I think that's a fair assessment

These are the only times tOSU has played the SEC in non bowl games. The Alabama game was a neutral site game...wonder what LSU had to do to get a deal with them?

You're omitting a big item here. The SEC did not begin to integrate their football teams until 1967 and it took until 1972 for all of the teams to integrate. Ohio State had their first black All American football player in 1943. There were far bigger reasons for northern teams and southern teams not playing much in those days than "not traveling down south to play".

Actually I was referring more to the last 30 years or so. It would seem that the Buckeyes would have ventured into the conference at least a couple of times in 30 years...especially with the South being such a recruiting goldmine. There's SOME reason for it that we just aren't aware of, imo.

Southern Cal, Nebraska, Missouri, Washington, etc. didn’t have issue traveling to Birmingham to play and vice versa.

I'm just referring to the past. There are pretty obvious reasons why those games weren't scheduled back then.

The last 30 years? I honestly don't know but it does take two to tango. I'd love to see Alabama play in the Horseshoe or Ohio State play at Bryant Denny. That would be one of the top historical OOC matchups of all-time as far as I'm concerned.

So was I. The games I referenced were during that time period.

Yep....we've had Notre Dame and Penn State for series, too. No reason another mid western power can't "come on down!"

So. It would seem that Alabama didn't play any of those teams in a regular season game until after the integration of SEC football. The exceptions were bowl games except for one game against USC in September of 1938.

You can argue that Alabama is the reason the Rose Bowl did their thing with the B10 and P12 back in the 40s.

Would want. I've always wanted to go to a game at the Shoe.
