College football was promised a true champion without politics
You were promised the four best teams in a playoff. And unless you were a TCU fan on the side that is exactly what you got. All your crying about conference championships has nothing to do with getting the best teams. A conference championship is only a selection point if the teams are viewed as equals. Clearly a #1 ranked Bama team with a suspect *loss* at Auburn trumps a two loss OSU that had been humiliated by a middling Big 10 team.
Those "has-been" coaches represent some of the best minds in college football. So you'll never have to worry about seeing Gus on the Committee. That "eye-test" you keep whining about just means that the Committee is actually watching these games.
The message they sent to Auburn was clear. If you cheat and get by because of suspect officiating they are more than willing to overlook those results.
Try getting a coach who is an actual offensive genius not some smuck whose schtick is trying to run plays before a team can substitute or before a play can be reviewed. Kirby got on the refs in the SEC Championship game and Auburn scored a grand total of 7 points.

Stop your LSU like whining about the refs. AU straight up beat us.
The committee put is in over OSU because they got butt raped by a 8-5 team. There’s no “suspect” loss that they considered.

That was my main question. If they're not afraid of tOSU, why don't the SEC schools schedule the Buckeyes...EVER!

Irons is a bitter man in the twilight of his life. He knows his football seasons are limited and he has to sit back and witness AUs biggest rival reel off a dynasty of epic proportions.
Coachcrisp is an old geezer too, but he gets to witness Saban make history in his old age.

I was lying about the footrace.

Honestly no idea.. tOSU schedules some big time programs, so I think it’s circumstantial if anything.
USC, TX & OU since 2005.. not many have done that. Maybe Urban’s doing? They do recruit the SE so I’d think they would want some non conf presence there & if I was a SEC AD I’d rather not bring in that option.

Ohio State may schedule big time programs, but they very rarely play in the south. Alabama has played almost twice as many games in the north as Ohio State has played in the south. The same goes for Michigan...

1988/09/24 Ohio St 36 - LSU 33 W
1987/09/26 Ohio St 13 - LSU 13 T
1986/08/27 Ohio St 10 - Alabama 16 L
1935/10/05 Ohio St 19 - Kentucky 6 W
1933/10/14 Ohio St 20 - Vanderbilt 0 W
These are the only times tOSU has played the SEC in non bowl games. The Alabama game was a neutral site game...wonder what LSU had to do to get a deal with them?

I’m guessing evolution of TV broadcasts explains pre cable. Non conf was likely heavy regional?

Possibly, but 30 years is a long time to go without a regular OOC game against any SEC team. Also, it would seem that they would have hooked up with Dallas, Atlanta, or Orlando to play in one of their early season games by now. I feel sure they were approached....something's not right.
Maybe that Alabama neutral site game left a bad taste in their mouths....Alabama's won 3 out of 4 meetings.

LSU in Baton Rouge and Columbus (87, 88)
Alabama in New Jersey
Kentucky, once in Lexington (1895), twice in Columbus
Vanderbilt, once in Nashville, 3 times in Columbus
so, 3 times in the south, 7 times in the north....

Urban & Saban factor could effect Bama getting scheduled, let’s be honest.. not too many big programs are running to schedule the Tide these days.
Given tOSU’s history of recruiting their skill/speed guys in the south, I’d think they would get in a few games in the SE.
All it takes is an AD or HC in place that avoids big non conf matchups tho. Texas has always scheduled well vs big programs until Mack arrived, Mack would seemingly go after middle tier programs from power conferences.

Texas makes perfect sense as biggest assholes and most hated programs on the planet and you add Notre Dame in the Mix and you easily have Top three most hated programs in existence. Good job

damn thats legit. seems like ND is trying really hard to get in the south. theyve had georgia, have us in like 6 years, and now bama
Pretty sure their AD said he’d be interested in playing the Cats in the future. He wanted to have a history with every team in the conference. Might be bad for our record but it would be fun as hell.
