Apologize if this has been posted. Not taking the time to read back.

First-hand account from someone who survived their apartment being hit by the tornado (with them in it), complete with pics. Amazing stuff.

Worth the read

I love that guy. He's one of those people who got a lot more out of his time at Bama than just football. He loves the university, and is just an all-around good person. He was constantly volunteering to read to students at the local elementary schools.

Just watched the Javy video - man, he rocks my socks.

"I'm not even worried about the lockout right now. My first priority is to help these people and help Tuscaloosa, my city".

You are a special man, Javy. I wish you success and blessings. Roll Tide, Javy!

Definitely a good guy. Hope other players that are able to do so, will be around to help some too and give back. Seems like story after story, there is a huge response to areas hard hit. Glad to see the overwhelming help and hope it doesn't make folks lazy thinking it is continuing and make people stop.

Shelter from the storm By Rick Reilly

Baseball is all about getting home. But what happens when you get there and it's gone?

It happened to Hueytown (Ala.) High School baseball head coach Rick Patterson on Wednesday. He walked to his house only to find a tornado had taken it.

Hueytown 13-3, Briarwood Christian 12-9, (Game 3, Wed.., 6 p.m., Hueytown) TUESDAY GAME POSTPONED BY RAIN

Hueytown couldn't pull it out, lost in Game 3. I was sort of pulling for those guys.

Just heard on the Radio here in Lafayette, that First Baptist is sending a bunch of donated Gatorade, bottled water and other relief items up that way on trucks tomorrow to a church in Tuscaloosa.

I survived tornado outbreak. I had close call to my home. Tho no damages to my home. I saw two twisters that day. Able capture 2nd twister on picture with my iphone. First twister, was EF5, that went through tanner, Harvest (near my home town Madison). Second one was very close to my home, EF1. Lost power for 4 days. Only loss: spoiled foods.

Want to let everyone that I am ok and safe. Pray for these people who lost home, love one, etc.

UA Students account of the tornado, wow!

Wow, that's an amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing that.

Some time later (I began losing track of time and events) we see people run into the bank to steal money, and cops arrest them. This pisses us all off for obvious reasons.

They should have shot these people on site instead of arresting them.

New Toomers for Tuscaloosa logo:

I really think that they should make t-shirts using this logo to help raise money for tornado relief for those who lost so much.
