What was crazy was how calm he was when it was bearing right down on him, but started hypervenilating after it passed.

In addition to financial aid, there is currently a shortage of blood due to the number of injured requiring surgeries/transfusions. Currently scheduled (non tornado related) surgeries are being canceled.

To donate blood, you can visit the lifesouth.org or the redcrossblood.org websites to search for a donation center.

Alabama Lost and Found on Facebook, to search for missing friends/relatives.

For those in Tuscaloosa wanting to donate blood, you can also go to Northridge Fitness across the river heading towards Nortport.

I live just south of 20/59 between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. From my front porch we watched the tornado on it's path. It was just on the North side of 20/59 about 5 miles from our home. I tell you I was terrified. I knew at that point we were safe as it was heading the other direction but I was still terrified for the people in the path b/c it was HUGE and judging by all the debris we could see we knew it was doing heavy damage!

We are praying for all the families affected.

Yeah they had the guy that shot the high quality video of it passing him on the news today. Said he wasn't really scared til it was moving away and he started to realize how close he got to dying.

No. That guy was about two miles to the east of me at the University Mall.

I was in downtown Tuscaloosa on the third level of the parking deck on 13th Street.

I haven't seen one yet but if you have a map of Alabama it went from Tuscaloosa just south of 20/59 and crossed over 20/59 between Tuscaloosa and McCalla somewhere before I-20 meets 459 and from there it appears it took a direct path toward Fultondale about 10 miles north of Birmingham.

They are using the same markings they used for Katrina when searching the homes. So sad.
