Another one busted. Wished there were separate laws for this kind of theft in these situations that were more harsh.
quote:
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- A woman has been charged with filing a false police report after Birmingham police say she lied about being robbed to get more money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Johnny Williams provided this account:
Bianca Rapley, 22, of Birmingham on Tuesday went to the Birmingham Police Department's Administration Building and said two men robbed her outside the Easy Money in the 2400 block of University Boulevard.
Rapley told police she was robbed at gunpoint of her purse and the money she got after cashing her FEMA check there.
"Detectives found that the suspect attempted to report the robbery to FEMA officials, but was instructed that she would need a police report," a statement from Williams read.
Police found she had made no transaction at the Easy Money and had cashed her FEMA check somewhere else on May 7.
Rapley was arrested and booked into the city jail.

One of my buddies at work had a tree fall on his house and so me and some other guys when to help him clean it up. His neighbors house hardly had any damage at all, but they went and busted out all their front and side windows and ripped their window unit out and threw it on the ground. They also turned their tv over into the floor and ripped the ceiling out of their bedroom. The guy that rents the house from them said that they told him they were going to do all of that. I hope that they get busted for insurance fraud or something.

If I was the renter, I'd go to FEMA and give his name so they could put him on some kind of watch list. I'd then find another place to rent. No way I'd give my money to lowlifes like that.

Not sure if Germans (I apologize if it is) - but I just wanted to make sure people saw this. A lot of people give Courtney a lot of grief about the stuff with his psycho ex - I just wanted to show a positive side to him! He really is a great person - anyone that knows him will agree!

UA Alumni Reuniting for a Day of Service
Any Bama fans on this board going to attend this? I decided to go ahead and participate. It would be kind of neat to meet a couple of you there and put a face with a few of the posters here.
Does anyone know exactly what people will be doing and how this is coordinated? I'm just trying to get an idea of the logistics of this and if we need to bring or wear anything specific. How long does it last? Etc.

unreal at the Hackleburg destruction. It has gotten so little attention. 31 of 32 businesses destroyed.. and so many lives...

That is insane. I wonder which business made it?

Shelter from the storm By Rick Reilly
Baseball is all about getting home. But what happens when you get there and it's gone?
It happened to Hueytown (Ala.) High School baseball head coach Rick Patterson on Wednesday. He walked to his house only to find a tornado had taken it.
Hueytown 13-3, Briarwood Christian 12-9, (Game 3, Wed.., 6 p.m., Hueytown) TUESDAY GAME POSTPONED BY RAIN
Hueytown couldn't pull it out, lost in Game 3. I was sort of pulling for those guys.
I grew up in the Hueytown area and got to see Concord today, almost as bad as Alberta City and if you havent seen the damage first hand the pictures do not tell the real story.
How anyone survived this storm is beyond me...

Kenny Chesney will be in concert in Tuscaloosa on May 25th at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.
He will be donating all of the fees and profits from that show to Tuscaloosa to help with the recovery from the tornado.
I can't stand KC but that's a very respectable thing to do.
