All in the sales pitch.

Saban is the ultimate example of a commitment to winning. That can be played up for a basketball coach the same way. Drop a 4M offer on the table and tell him that he has full control over the basketball side like CNS has over the football side.

Heck, leverage what UF has done over the past couple of years. It can be done.

But as I said earlier...I refuse to believe he is a possibility.

You might be right. It would be a first, but it's possible. The sun shines on every dog's arse eventually.

You'd be wrong.

Nobody thought Alabama would get a big name coach after Price left when he did.

Well you won't see Bama wining and dining any habitual cheats just to get a leg up. They don't roll like other programs.

Grant was never a big name. He was no different than the coach at Florida Gulf Coast who went to Southern Cal a couple of years ago. A small school coach who wins a game or two in the NCAA tournament and rides that success to take the first decent job that comes along. Coaches like that come along every year. Marshall has had more sustained success and turned down better jobs than bama

What? No one expected a decent hire after Mike Price

He was the hottest name out there that year.

Bruce Pearl had sustained success and he ended up at a program far beneath Alabama. You just never know.

Gregg is quickly turning into the basketball version of Gruden...

Maybe, though I don't know how many AD's have actually had serious conversations with him.

Look, I don't think many Alabama fans actually think we will land Marshall. But I see no reason not to be hopeful that something great could happen with the rumored money Battle is willing to put out there as well as the fact that they've obviously made him the #1 target.

Alabama is apparently going to use a cheat to try to lure Marshall in as their basketball coach since at least some of the violations that caused Bammers football program to go on probation in 2007 occurred under Saban

I'm tired of this talk of settling for Marshall. I want the other Gregg with 2 "gg's". I want Popovich. Battle needs to go to San Antonio and get it done!

Before coach crisp or some other Bammer tard claims Saban was not part of bammers probation, I just want to point out they are full of shite in advance

Bama originally won 7 games in 2007 but later had to forfeit 5 of those games because of their probation. Their official record in 2007 is 2-6.

Oh yeah , who was the bama football coach in 2007? Oh yeah, Saban was

Why would any coach go to Bama and kill their career?

You do realize the textbook issues began under Shula, right? You also realize it was a case that was insignificant at Ball State and Nebraksa, and only carried punishment at Alabama because it fell within the five year window of the 2002 case? Can you also get it into your thick skull that the issues were found and self reported under Saban?

And what in Sam Hell does this have to do with basketball you obesesed little barner?

You'd be surprised what I know. And I know more on the Marshall side than the UA side.

I also remember that time that bammers thought they were going to get a big name coach but ended up with Mike Shula instead. Probably going to see a repeat for your basketball program

Are these the imaginary fans? Because who in the hell was saying Alabama was landing a big name coach in April 2003 when Price was being replaced? You literally just make shite up.
