Bama was the least penalized team in the SEC in both 2007 and 2008. LINK

LINK

Are they just well-coached to not commit penalties, or are they receiving favorable calls?

The sideline interference call on Florida just as the Gators were about to put the BCS Championship out of Bama's reach made me wonder.

Wasn't there a link somebody posted on here before the season that showed that for the past decade, Bama has been the least penalized team in the SEC by far... and their opponents committed the largest amount of penalties by far.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but it does make me scratch my head.

Couldn't possibly be due to preparation and coaching.

There was a punt return that the ref was looking right at a bama player commit a block in the back. I think it was the drive when Alabama kicked a FG to make it 20-17.

The SEC refs are below par as compared to other conferences.

Sometimes, when you are as bigtime as Alabama, things just go your way. We are Alabama remember.

Even in the worst years?

I swear to god I saw a Bama OL move early, and no false start was called.

Most of the regular LSU fans on here know what I am doing but it pushes the newer ones over the edge.

Clearly no one is remembering the Dubose years. We averaged about 10-13 penalties per game before Francione got here. There were plenty of games that playing like that cost us the win or loss.

Don't worry, the influx of rantards is on the way.

I can see preparation and coaching keeping you in the top half of the SEC in terms of fewest penalties committed, but 1st by far both years?

And how does preparation and coaching cause the team you play each week to commit a lot of penalties? I would like to learn so I can pass it on to the LSU program. We could use some free yardage next year.

I wonder what LSU's ranks were when Saban was here. It has got to be coaching.

LSU had the shittiest call against them when Saban was there that I have ever seen. When they called that bullshite penalty in 2004 on the field goal that Auburn missed and allowed them to kick again it blew my mind. I had never even heard of that penalty and until this day I think it is the only time that penalty has been called ever in college football.

the no-call on Tebow's intentional grounding should have erased any thoughts of biased officiating

It was an extra point rather than field goal. But the game at Auburn in 2006, where there were even more horrendous calls, made it only worse.

LSU-Auburn 2006 is the only game where I will always believe the refs were deliberatley biased. Just too many bad calls.
