I think Alabama should take the same action against the fan that the SEC took against the referees in that game who ensured they won their gambling bets.

It's not worth a death though. Alabama went too far in their punishment and I'd like to see a ruling on this punishment by the NCAA.

You don't put your hands on other people unless there is a clear threat. You just don't. Calling a Black man "boy" while you're doing it doesn't help.

The last game I was at a game was last year at Sanford Stadium. I sat next to a black man and his son, probably about 9 or 10 years old, and I overheard him say "Come on boy, let's go to the bathroom".
I immediately told him what he said was wrong and that he was keeping his son in chains by using that language towards him.
I think the kid understood I was trying to help him live more freely and not be under the yoke of an oppressive parent. The father acted offended though; he didn't seem to understand.

Alabama is in a tough spot. Obviously they're protecting this guys privacy and at the same time their liability. Rumors are this guy is some kind of donor. Alabama now needs to respond with more than that simple move along statement.
Bad look for the tide.
The liberal usage of "white boy" by African Americans used in derogatory and demeaning ways towards white men is a stain on their people. It reveals ignorance and prejudices and, even in this day and age, hatred.
Hopefully, one day, the great majorities of their communites will overcome their biases and foolishness and accept everyone for who they are, no matter the color of their skin.
That is my dream.
As far as the individual in question, would you have him caned in the public square? Would you derive enjoyment seeing him lose his job and have his family and children starve to death? Perhaps it would please you to have his vocal cords removed so he could no longer speak. Would that make you happy?
Are you so full of hate and malignant anger that you can't forgive your fellow man for a perceived slight without doing great and lasting harm to give you a feeling of being better than thou?
