When did that happen?

The 2009 team had a lot of under recruited players in the starting lineup.

A hysterics filled, irrational opinion is that Bama is devoid of talent and doesn’t develop players

When we're relying on transfers year after year, what do you call that?

Do we have a single WR on the roster who will go first round? No.
Just a few years ago we had 4 first rounders at WR.

What I'm saying is that our program has fallen off a cliff in the past 2 years. I'm not talking about before that. Obviously we've been dominant for a long time. I'm saying it looks to be over.

They will have four tonight. Did the player development just stop today because of a transfer QB?

First off, one of those was a transfer. I'm saying the program has fallen off a cliff in the past 2 years.
How many first rounders will we have next year?

You’re relying on a transfer at a single spot. Chill out.

That was absolutely unprecedented and probably had never happened before.

Not exactly. Lately, all of our best players are transfers.

That's not the case with a lot of other programs. We're relying on the portal bc we have no playmakers.

Our top 2 receivers and QB this year will be transfers.

Sure, but Alabama has always had at least one first round pick at WR and one at RB that WE recruited. Now we don't have any

Jacory Brooks and Ty Simpson are not transfers

So you’re bitching about having three first round picks that signed with Alabama out of high school and developed into day one picks?

Probably two right now. Latham and McKinstry.

It also had the No. 1 recruiting class in the country the prior season (Julio Jones, Trent Richardson, etc.)

Alabama is a victim of its own success. Now so called fans expect every WR to be like the WR room Alabama had in 2018-2020. Every QB to a Heisman candidate and first round pick.

OP is a fig but this rebuttal is literally not true

2009 team went 14-0 with almost the entire starting lineup minus Julio being 3 and 4 stars

GMac
Ingram
Maze
Hanks
Entire OL

Give me significant contributor on defense besides Dre Kirk that was a 5 star

Bama still develops players well.

But the last couple of years, I've either seen recruiting misses or player development issues at a couple of positions (not across the board)... mainly WR and OL. Those positions have seemed to fade bit by bit over the last few years as stars have gone to the NFL and the replacements have been highly rated but not that good.

It's possible QB may get added to that list if none of the guys on the roster are that good. Perhaps RB as well (they kind of needed Gibbs as a transfer in their running and passing game last season)

This is a real solid take for rival fan. There were alot of misses along both sides of the LOS, but they made up for it in a hurry on the OL which will have 3 future 1st rounders on it in 2023.

As far as QB goes Ty Simpson will be a stud before he is done.

I tend to have a "wait and see" view of players who will be studs until they actually show they're likely going to be.

Not just about other teams, but about mine as well. I was the guy telling other UGA fans to press the breaks about that AJ Green kid at WR for UGA. Took him just a week or two to prove that the hype was real, but I still didn't believe it until I saw him in actual games.

It's different if you have some game tape. Carson Beck showed some great things in his action last year. But Milroe didn't and Saban still went with him over Simpson. Perhaps Simpson just wasn't ready, but I'm still going to be in the "wait and see" camp with him. Not going to project failure, but not going to assume success either (like we often do with Alabama guys).

We've got 4 QBs on the roster, but the coaches aren't confident in any of them, so we have to get a mediocre QB from the Big 10?

This is certainly an interesting take. When did the Golden Domers bite the inevitable bullet of destiny? I must have missed it.
