But muh Bama bias ! Nothing could be further from the truth, but the Bama envy has reached an all time high.
Bama opponent penalties rank dead last, or near last every. year.
Anyone that watched the LSU game could see the refs start to feel sorry for the other team, and allow them to hold in an effort to keep their QB alive. LSU OL was pulling the jerseys off of Bama DL out in open space, and still no flags.
Bama Opponent Penalties:
2017 - 130 out of 130 teams
2016 - 128 of 128
2015 - 102 of 128
2014 - 123 of 128
2013 - 89 of 125
2012 - 108 of 124
2011 - 117 of 120
2010 - 95 of 120

It's the timing of the penalty.

Yes, Bama racks up penalties in meaningless games. Correct. Also, they become the most disciplined team in the country when they play teams with a pulse.

This is mostly because refs just put the whistles in their pockets once the game gets out of hand, and Bama does that more than anybody.

Well done. This settles it for all time.
FYI...I believe the SEC protects the teams with a legit shot at the big money. Auburn's benefitted some in the past. It just so happens bama is more consistently in the hunt for that money than the rest of us.

The snowflakes on this board have an agenda and have no need for your facts.

The problem here is that you think facts will persuade people to give up on their paranoid notions.

Yep, no way a 75 yd touchdown on the first play isn’t a big penalty.

Yeah, the ref didn’t throw that flag until the Aub was in the end zone.
Stupid Bama bias.

This stat measures penalty yardage. The year where Alabama was #102, they were actually #22 in the raw number of opponents penalties (90). These rankings also don’t account for penalties that are declined which is more likely to occur when the team makes a higher percentage of positive plays - like Alabama.
