Alabama is in — see 2011, 2017, 2023 as evidence

We’ve been here before: Alabama doesn’t win the games they need to secure a championship/playoff spot. Their reputation gets them in anyway.
Those of you thinking they get left out are going to be sorely disappointed.

Bama backdoor, not worthy, but Bama bias prevailed...

Unfortunately it’s either ND or Bama. That sucks. See A&M 2020.

Winning in 2011 and 2017 showed that Bama deserved the benefit of the doubt, no?

I mean, in all seriousness who would you put in ahead of them?
Texas lost 3 games and got beat by Georgia worse.
Vanderbilt played a pretty bad schedule and lost head to head against Alabama and Texas.
Miami will probably make it now that Duke beat Virginia. That only leaves BYU, Utah or USCw.
Alabama is one of the best 12 teams. Which brings up a point I have been making for awhile....12 teams is way too many. 6 would have been the sweet spot, imo. And people want to expand to 16 teams? I promise when they do that, they will make 2 G5 teams in and promise all conferences (P5) to have a representative.
They will compensate by penalizing SEC teams in the rankings so we won't overwhelm the bracket.

Those were all great Bama teams
I’m not sure about this season

Not either/or. They will both get in. And it will be hard to argue against it with a 12 team playoff.

It has nothing to do with bama bias this time. The CFP is essentially a front for Disney and Disney makes a lot of money off CCGs played this weekend. If Alabama is not in, the SEC will be considering ending it in its current format or altogether in the offseason.

One day the pattern will be broken.
But not today.
