hat doesn't change the fact that the top player's in Alabama (rivals, scout, bham news etc.) have chose UA over AU since Saban's arrival

correct and if you like back to Shula's days - Auburn got most of them.

If you want, we can change their ranking to a 2 or 3 star so AU will have a better class on paper but that will not change what is going to happen in Nov.

we will know if your players are overrated if your team fails. being a 2 time recruiting national championship should produce real championships. I doubt you even win the SEC with this current group of players.

So Bama won't win an SEC title within the next 5 years? That is a pretty bold statement.

And I doubt you beat La Tech with yours...so what is your point?

So scout was different on 2 guys. Does scout also have a bias towards Bama?

No.
Scout isn't run by someone with Bama connections.
Given I don't mind the Bama bias, because we fight a couple of players away from you (in Mississippi) every year.

We'll see how they do but I will say that it's much harder to win the SEC with the way UF is going right now (that may change after Tebow leaves). I'm happy that they've got us competing and in the top 5 right now.

Exactly and that's the reason AU fans hate Bama even more now because y'all know that Saban can recruit a hell of a lot better than Shula. So far, Saban has locked down the state and that's not easy considering how well AU has done this decade.

Just so we can settle the whole thing about Scott, he played WR last year, played QB in high school, didn't do too well at WR. Moved to CB now.

DO you think Love and Scott are 1st rounders? I didn't think so. If they were that good, they would be starting from day 1.

Since 1972, 11 true freshmen have started at Alabama.

I don't know how many top ranked recruits Alabama has pulled in in that time frame, but I'm sure its a shite load more than 11.

13.5 point favorite. you need to worry about your 6 point favorite game against Va. Tech.

I might put money on that game. AU may win but I expect the game to be alot closer than 13. La Tech has talent coming back with a good coach and y'all have a new coaching staff.

The state of Alabama had a load of talent in the late 90s and early 2000s, mostly along the defensive line. All of them five stars, and most signed with Alabama. Anthony Bryant, Antwan Odom, Saleem Rasheed, and others. Then it went pretty quite for a time, until recently. I think its better coaching and camp exposure for a lot of these guys.

Julio is obviously deserving. Dre, Nico, and Scott did what was necessary to earn those stars. I wouldn't judge Love or Fluker yet. They were deserving of being considered among the best offensive linemen coming out, but offesnive linemen take time to develop at the college level. Not all of them can be a Andre Smith, even if they are five stars. Milliner still has a senior season to prove his ranking. He certainly is a talent.

It's random. Sometimes we have a lot of talent in this state and sometimes we don't. La., Fl., and Ga. are probably the three best states for consistently producing talent in the SEC.

Florida yes, but South Carolina has given the SEC Carlos Dunlap, AJ Green, DJ Moore, and Prince Miller.

Lol @ this thread... CPA does this all the time he makes threads to rile up the Bama fans and you guys take the bait all the time. I actually think the guy is hilarious! By the way Nico Johnson is a legit 5 star prospect!

RollTide1283, the state of alabama's increase in 5-stars begins with Andrew Bone joining the Scout network as a talent evaluator (and leaving his post at bamamag).

It's also pretty ironic that the number of 5 stars has increased with Saban getting on board and the program's energy being at a 30 year high...

Nick Saban + Bammers Starved for Ego Stroking = 5 stars
