Dennys Crum scheduled the best for that reason.

This is why you go play all the best teams you can schedule. BAMA has been winning their share of these games and it got us ready for a tough SEC run. 19-2 later as SEC champs, here we are making some big noise in the Sweet 16. And no one has gotten within 20 points of the Tide.

It was in Birmingham in mid-December.

Final was 100-90 Gonzaga. Drew Timme had 29 points and Miller had 36.

Alabama gave up 14 turnovers in the first half, and Gonzaga went 74% (!) from the field in the second half.

They were hitting everything, and we just couldn't stop them.

Just like when Bama lost to Clemson in the national title game. LSU fans will write poems about it. They will declare a statewide holiday

Texas actually played Arkansas & Houston as well in scrimmages before the season. I know it isn’t the same, but we still got a look at 6 of the other 15 teams left.

Xavier is gonna be tough.

On a side note, the SWC is representing..

Texas, Houston, Arkansas still left with Baylor, TCU & A&M all making the field.

It was pretty ridiculous the rate they were hitting shots. Same thing happened with Oklahoma and fricking South Carolina for whatever reason. Literally everything was dropping.

That type of schedule has prepared them to win it all.

which means they'll slipup on Arkansas.

I thought about this too, SWC had some good basketball back in the 70’s and beyond.
