God damn Alabama is ridiculous. I'd kill for ONE of those finishes.

I do recall a time that I would have killed for nine wins.

the problem is people react to single games and think a program is broken because of that

it's not he single game that matters it's positioning that matters in sports

the ball is egg shaped and can go in just about any direction - in other words shite happens- a great run in sports, especially football, is dependent on always putting yourself in a position to win. If you ask for championships every single year your a bit crazy all you can really ask for is to be in the conversation to have a better chance than most. It sounds simple but just ask Gus and Les how hard it is to do that year in and year out

Steve Spurrier had his Florida teams at the top of the pile for a decade and got one national championship out of it. You keep yourself in the conversation and you hope for the ball to bounce your way. It's the best you can do really

at Bama he has had 7 straight seasons of 10 wins or more.

I love that this includes the "down" years. Down years are double digit wins. Hell, some even call last year a "down year" and Alabama won the SEC championship. Heady times.

To put 7 straight double digit win seasons in perspective, Auburn (who is a top 15 program of all time) hasn't had back to back double digit win seasons since 1988-1989 and that was the only time in their history they have had back to back double digit win seasons.

Spurrier had 6 in a row with Florida in the 90s.

Rival fans are quick to lecture Alabama fans on "enjoying the run" but want to judge the program on a handful of games. It would be nearly impossible to be anymore successful than Alabama has been since 2008. You can't enjoy the winning is you're harping on the individual failures.

More like Nick Saban an 8 year recap. Alabama football wouldn't have done it without him.

Problem with this line of thought is Saban wasn't able to have similar success at LSU. If it was JUST about Saban, he would have been able to put back-to-back 10 win seasons together at LSU. He wasn't. There is likely a reason for that.

Also, Bama has had similarly impressive stretches with other coaches as well in their history. I bet it makes some feel better to think that when Saban leaves Bama is going to fall of the map though. There will be a drop off. They'll likely go from being the top program in the country all the way down to being a top 10 program in the country.

It's mostly LSU fans. I wonder why.

TBF, a game (cupcake) was added to the schedule in 2006. If that extra game was in place in 2004, Saban would have had back-to-back 10 win seasons in 2003 & 2004.

you're telling me that Mizzou, LSU, UGA, USC, and UF have all had more 10 win seasons in this time span than Auburn?

Yes, but Auburn made much better use of their two double digit win seasons than the others did. 2 SEC Championships and 1 BCS Championship. LSU has 1 SECC. Florida has 1 SECC and one BCSC. Depsite some bad seasons mixed in, Auburn probably wouldn't trade their 08-14 results with any other SEC team except Alabama.
