We were cheating while on probation? Are all people from Texas stupid?

You didn't answer my question. Why does Texas suck at football?

Did I see correctly that they haven't won their conference since 2009? Ooof!

Shula record (without vacated games)

26-23 overall; 13-19 SEC
Best season - 10-2; 6-2

Charlie Strong record @ Texas

16-21 overall; 12-15 Big-12
Best season - 6-7; 5-4

So...as bad as Shula was, they could have done worse.

Mike Shula at a probation riddled Alabama was more successful than Charlie Strong at a full strength Texas. Mike fricking Shula, with Darby up the middle, the Jumbo Package, and Spencer Pennington. Really shows you the overall quality of the two programs.

Mike Shula had the same number of 10 win seasons in his 4 years at Bama as every single Texas coach has COMBINED since they lost the 2009 title game.

You should be worried about how you're going to get bowl eligible starting in 2025.

So you could have had the best football coach in history whenever you wanted, but instead chose to field mediocre teams in a subpar conference? Seems dumb

Despite what they think, we never tried to hire Saban. If we had, he would already be our coach.
It is cute that you are deluded enough to believe that.

Why was tu cheating? And why did they continue to get such poor results even while cheating?

Alabama had more success from 1997-2006 than Texas has had from 2010-2020

Shula was 10-2 in 2005 or one coach ago. Texas hasn't done that since Mack.

No. Unless Saban runs the program off the cliff before retiring, Alabama will still be a very high quality program for a half decade to a decade after him. Look how long Les Miles coasted over what Saban established in 4 years in Baton Rouge.
