Alabama squeaked by South Carolina Upstate 7-5. But… Alabama’s two pitchers allowed zero earned runs.
Alabama had 6 errors that led to all 5 of SCU’s runs.
It was like the Bad News Bears out in the field.

They’ve been the worst fielding team in the conference all season. Just a really really strange team on paper. They don’t do anything particularly well outside of an above average starting rotation and baserunning.
Dont field it worth a shite, strike out a ton, go long spells without baserunners. It’s baffling to me that they are where they are. If they don’t get jumped on early though, they can beat anyone in the field. They just have a way of finding 2-3 big hits a game when they win.

On paper they are the worst fielding team in the SEC. But really they are the most inconsistent fielding team. Most games they had less than 2 errors. But when they decide to kick the ball around they go all out. They had 10 games with more than 2 errors. They had 2 games with 6 errors, 3 games with 5 errors, 2 games with 4 errors, and 3 games with 3 errors. In 51 games they had two or less errors. Those other 10 are what make them look so bad on paper.
They had almost half their errors - 35 of 72 - in 7 games. The crazy thing is they had a winning record in those games.

Could be in game with big leads or inferior teams they lose concentration
