Huh. I am expecting it to be significantly better than last year.
You lose your best Olinemen from last year and expect it to be better?

This will rustle jimmies for sure, but I'll try to give an unbiased opinion on the LSU game that will undoubtedly be at least somewhat biased.
I assume the reason people are picking LSU to beat us is that it is in Baton Rouge. Any other reason doesn't really make sense to me.
On defense, I see their biggest strength being the secondary, and I imagine we will have some difficulty passing on them. They lost both DTs and have had good but not great LB play which should mean there is a strong chance we will be able to run on them. This should mean that we would be able to use the run to open up the passing game. On offense, we have talent and experience at RB and the line, so we should have the edge in the RB vs LB match up and OL vs DL match up. Basically, our strength should be going up against their weakness.
On offense, they have inexperience everywhere but especially at the QB and WR position. There is talent there, but we don't have too much basis at all right now for how well they will really do when they are the starters. Their strength should be the running game, but fortunately for us, our strength on defense is the front 7. I imagine this will be evenly matched and really great to watch.
In summary, our offensive strength should go against their defensive weakness while their offensive strength should go against our defensive strength.

Cyrus? He was okay, but wasn't that great last year. Yes, I think it will be better.

quote:Completely agree. I don't mind throwing out a prediction, but I think it is silly to get too worked up over someone else's. The season rarely plays out the way we expect for everyone.
IMO, you can't form a solid opinion until we see a few games from everyone.

Yea, we don't know much of anything right now and can only make projections. We won't have a solid idea of how good any of these teams will be until about week 4.

Anywhere from 0 to 4 losses. The entire season depends on how the online plays more than anything else. This will not be the NFL oline that most Bama fans have grown accustomed to recently. The teams with the best Dlines will be our biggest problem. So OM, MSU, AU and I guess LSU though I'm more concerned about their DEs then their DTs. We probably split the four games against the teams I mentioned above. AU and MSU are at home, I'm more confident about those two than others. AU does play us lights out at BDS though, and of course it will be a battle. We haven't beaten a great AU team in a while and Gus seems to understand Saban better than any other HC.
We will beat every other team by at least 2 Tds. UF will be tough but I don't trust their O and I like our D, especially our Dline.

Very key, but our receiving corp is unreal... would like to see us be able to throw it around a little bit
If you play against a good enough defense and Coker isn't as good as some believe he is, it won't matter. LSU had a pretty good group of receivers in 2011, but it didn't matter either time against Bama.
