In all seriousness, I forget Jeff Schultz exists.
He's been around forever, but he's never a guest on the radio, he's never referenced nationally, and in my 3 decades in this town nobody has ever referenced one of his columns/articles in real life conversation.
Maybe he decided he needed to act like Schlabach to get attention or something.
Correct Answer.

Don't really think of Atlanta as Georgia. More or less a sewer loaded with rats.

The 60,000 UGA alums in the Metro would probably beg to differ.

the AJC has an entire section of their newspaper labeled Dawgnation.
Dawgnation is a website they launched, they are just chasing clicks. If you are in the media business in Atlanta, and clicks mean money, are you going to do Stingnation or Dawgnation?
No offense.

Georgia would be 3rd world without Atlanta. On par with Alabama and Mississippi.

BS...So there's an entire section separate from sports labeled "dawgnation"?

I've actually started to really like reading Mark Bradley's stuff. Which.......5 years ago I would never believe that.

If New York didn't have New York City, it would just be a bunch of upper Appalachian hillbillies fricking their sisters and cock-mounting sappy tree holes.

His point was that Georgia people outside Atlanta love talking shite about it..........that's fine, just admit without it the state would be a backwater like the rest of the Deep South (places that I love, by the way, but that isn't the point here).
A state with it's pinnacle cities being Savannah, Macon and Augusta isn't anything better than Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile or Jackson, Meridian and Gulfport.

Who the hell are you kidding? Those Georgia towns are better. Georgia is better, with or without Atlanta. The point is Atlanta is in Georgia. Saying "if Georgia didn't have Atlanta" is equivalent to saying "if ifs and buts."

Ok thanks for clearing that up. For a minute there I thought we were talking about shitty journalism and the motivations behind it, in a major media market.

He's not wrong about Auburn, though.
Place is a serious gutter when it comes to sports.
I mean - Bruce Pearl? No respectable University on the planet would've hired that fraud. Auburn, of course, jumped at the chance. And now the FBI is involved. Congrats Auburn - no one is surprised.
In football, the Aubs are famous for looking through the Dixie dumpsters of better programs to find the garbage that couldn't hack it legally or academically at better schools. Just as long as they can ball, right?
Now women's softball, that's a new wrinkle. Not surprising that it's Auburn, though, I mean - who else?

As for the AJC, they were simply reporting the fact that Auburn is a toilet. Auburn fans can whine all they want. Rather than whine, up your standards. That place has also come within an eyelash of losing their accreditation, twice I believe.

Maybe UGA should look into it if they want to win a championship this century.
