The NFL talk is irrelevant. We are talking about the best college quarterback in the country. The fact that Jesus, i mean Tebow blew in the NFL doesn't take away from him being one of the best college quarterbacks in recent memory.

Not really, Alabama is just not a pass-oriented team....

He really hasn't done jack against LSU...what would NFL defenses do to him? In the NFL you've gotta throw more than a screen pass lol

Nothing from his first year points to this. AJ was a much more efficient passer last year. Just sayin'.

I think athletically he has the edge as well but what completes the ensemble

Really doesnt matter in the NFL unless you are Cam or RG3.

In my not so professional opinion I see McCarron as less gifted and perhaps not as accurate.

But, AJ has been more accurate in college thus far...

We will just have to agree to disagree.

Has anyone dismissed Ajs accuracy bec of the OL he played behind?

If not, any QB would be that accurate with that OL that he gets to play with.

Very true, and many good college QBs don't make it in the NFL...

Ken Dorsey directed the Miami Hurricane offense last decade, and really didn't do anything in the NFL...

The argument with McCarron is that he really just isn't a prolific passer...so all of the hoopla about him being a good QB, well, its just hoopla....

what does Bama do well? Defense and RBs

Don't pretend you're QB U. all of the sudden lol

Sorry cant use this argument, we have to look no further than Jamarcus to know, Or Tebow. But Jmarc was the #1 pick and what happened?

AJ might not project to be a great pro, but guess what? He isn't in the NFL yet..

AJ did not just manage the game the past two years.

He owned LSU's arse in the 2011 national championship game, if he doesnt play great, that game ends 9 to 6 in overtime.

He also drove on LSU's arse again in 2012 win it mattered most, I dont care what you say, it takes huge balls to go on a last second drive in Baton Rouge, at night.

And that pass to coop in the SEC championship game was the prettiest shite I have ever seen.

Is he the greatest ever, no.

Is he the best in college football until someone beats him this year, yes.

And goodluck to all.

The line while absolutely phenomenal, was not as great at pass blocking when compared to run blocking. AJ took a few lumps this year.

ya, when all you throw is screen plays, its hard to miss the RB

How many games has Saban benched his RBs and let McCarron go and pick apart a team with his arm? I swear you Alabama fans think you've got the next Dan Marino or something

God knows the dude has mastered the dump pass. He's still a very good QB but slow down lol. His most memorable play last year during the regular season was a little screen pass in which his RB did the work,

And he likes to cry.

What he did in 2011 is more impressive than what he did in 2012 in one way.

Our top 2 receivers were Darius Hanks and Marquis Maze in 2011. Both undrafted. One 5'9" and the other 5'11".

That's what he had to work with at wideout for the year.....and he won a National Title with them.

Damn.

Auburn is in trouble if we bel that one of our assistant coaches feels that Bamas QB is the best in the country?

How?

First off, the implication is that if he is the best player in the country, he is going to be a constant priority and something that needs extra attention.

If Auburn wastes effort focusing on AJ, they are stupid. 5 things off the top of my head more dangerous than AJ that Auburn's coaching staff should worry about:

1. Johnny Manziel
2. Aaron Murray
3. LSU's running game
4. Georgia's running game
5. Alabama's running game

actually, he's always taken care of the ball. He really didn't throw that many picks in high school either.

but then again... his team always seemed to give out "scholarships" to the fellas from Toulminville area. They had to stack their teams like that or they'd get their arse kicked every week. I think A.J. himself was one of the chosen ones that St. Paul's lured in.

but put him on team that is hard pressed for luck in the NFL like the Raiders or something... then we'd find a lot more out about him.

Dude, you could put Aaron Rodgers on the Raiders and he'd probably suck.
