I'd give TCU that title. I know they were down this year, but went to a NY6 two years ago, could've made a case for the playoffs, and destroyed Ole Miss. Went 10-3 last year and won the Alamo. Went to the Fiesta in 09 and Rose in 10. A&M hasn't been to a major bowl game since 98.

Since 2012 when A&M joined the SEC and TCU joined the B12, TCU has a worse record by several games playing in arguably the weakest conference, than A&M has playing in the SEC West.

They did manage to squeak out 6 wins in the pathetic B12 this year to make it to a bowl game.

Since both teams joined their respective conferences:

Texas A&M is 44-20
TCU is 40-23

Oh, and there are six major bowls, called the New Year's Six.

Peach Bowl - Texas A&M went during the 2013 season
Cotton Bowl - Texas A&M went during the 2012 season
Sugar Bowl - Texas A&M went during the 1998 season
Orange Bowl
Fiesta Bowl
Rose Bowl

Came across my twitter feed and gave me a good laugh. Your coach is in the hot seat and claimed most stable program in Texas when Texas is arguably at its lowest football point in decades. Oh wait, it just made me laugh again.

I'm off the Sumlin bandwagon, but everything he said is true. And you just confirmed it with the low-hanging fruit of Texas. Whether they're up or down, being better than Texas matters for recruiting in Texas.

Since the move in 2012 and playing against WAY better competition, A&M's winning percentage is better than any Texas school save Baylor (69.8% to 71.9%), but I think we can all agree BU is headed into the toilet.

Does this mean A&M will win the SECW? No, of course not. But it is silly to pretend this stuff isn't important. It must be nice to be a fan in a state where you really have no recruiting competition.

Peach Bowl was not considered a major bowl at this time.

Neither was the Cotton Bowl in 2012

.....and 4 seasons before that, Texas beat THE GREATEST TEAM EVER ASSEMBLED in their own home town for a national championship.

Not counting this year's Stability Championship, when was A&M's last football national title?

It is always a slow news day in Baton Rouge. It has to be. High school graduation requires the student must read at a 4th grade level.

They are notorious for slow

If by stable, he means entrenched in mediocrity, I agree.

Aaaaand there's the next stage of Aggy deflection. They run out of argument for the football team and then begin to discuss academics, women's sports, geography, etc.

Thanks for not disappointing

It's like a telephone operator script when you call customer service. It's the same progression every time. Do they teach that along with the yells for everyone freshman year?
