He wants to be with Fisher but if Herman gets permission to throw crazy money at him he may head to Austin

I’m hearing that the 40 acres has the finances on lock down and that they have already told Herman to quit asking for any money for facilities that he thinks he desperately needs to keep up and coaches until he shows improvement

Texas is shopping for an AD.. don’t know if that reflects anything, but it’s Herman that wants the staff intact.

Pretty important decision, Texas hasn’t been serious about anything but making money in a long time.

They have been the Kings of college sports, they’ll never be the Harvard of the South.

I get it Gents, it’s about the academics & University, but winning football games isn’t a bad thing.

Again? I thought Fenves was the AD.

Either A&M, FSU, or UF is going to get Brewster. Smart money is on A&M

Fenves is the Prez. Perrin lifted the interim tag, but he’s an atty with a practice vs an AD & it’s moved from “when the right hire pops up” to “active search”.

If and who they get will tell you everything you need to know moving forward as to whether Texas wants to be an elite football program or play it safe and pretend it’s still student athletes out there.

Aside from Woodward at A&M, who is actually considered an elite AD right now?

Might as well just go ahead and make Plonsky the athletic director for everything, then fire her when she fails.

At least most on here seem to have a little sense of humor. This guy is not only a coward, he is a message board coward.....and that is really something. He posts some big putdown-troll attempt, then disappears. But hey, if that is what makes you happy..

Woodward isn't elite... y'all may love him for pulling in Fisher, but others judge him in other ways. We can all agree the Fisher hire was huge.. the contract on the other hand and Woodward's past?

Might as well set Austin on fire if Plonsky were to get the job. Why she hasn't been processed already (Bev Kearney deal) is beyond me.

Texas ath dept is a mess, no direction or leadeship.. just a bunch of lifers cashing huge checks and idiots born on third base/think they hit a triple.

Perrin has done some clean up, but it needs to be in the hands of an experienced director that plans on being around 10-20 years.

Wish we had Oliver Luck back a few years ago vs Patterson.

So, you want credit for having a dinky stadium that required a federal boondoggle to be built in the first place?

Typical.

LSU is around 1k behind A&M on the year with a full home schedule.

A&M has 50k students to our 26k. Y’all averaged a couple hundred more “accounted for” tickets per game.
And Imagine if we didn’t lose to a sunbelt team weak 4...

Didn’t your stadium have a bat shite problem up until a few years ago?

We have scanners now. I think all parties involved would just rather leave the actual numbers out

At least you’re being honest about it, your A.D. has been a shite fest since Dodds became senile and blew up the big 12 .

Without that idiot, there is a big 12 network that’s probably as nice and strong as the SEC network is now, and the big 12 is as strong as ever.

What an idiot, and y’all praised him for it at the time, now attendance is it an all time low, viewership is below the AAC, and most of your kick off’s aren’t on national TV and are at 11 AM

Whoever becomes the new A.D. will have their work cut out for them

"who is actually considered an elite AD right now?"

TCU's Chris Del Conte is the best in the biz, OU AND Bama's guys are up there.

It really depends on what you are looking for.

Well you’ve tried and failed to lure away Patterson, you think you’ve got a shot at the AD?

TCU has money and less pressure, tough battle to get him

Patterson promised a professional and international approach that played well to the egos making the hire.
