Holy frick is there a term for something this far beyond Germans?
I've never seen it and now that i have its quite ridiculous. Especially the conference champion ones. How can you even claim those? What am i missing?

Good god, how awful is Texas Barbecue? I have given it a try. I really have. I even went out of my way to try and find good Texas barbecue last week in Dallas. Some guy pointed me to a place owned by some former Dallas Cowboy. It was terrible.
This thread is now about barbecue.

The real question...
Is the Big Rig broken down?

For a somewhat serious response: We should've always claimed the 1917 & 1919 National Championships. If my memory serves correctly we were undefeated and unscored upon. Who can dispute something like that? As for the conference championship stuff - apparently we were South division champs, or tied for 1st for those years? I dunno. I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
We still do not claim 1917 we claim 1919 and 1927.

The NC's are legit. A&M just previously didn't claim anything prior to the major polls for some reason but those teams had rock solid credentials for the claims.
The Conf Championships are Division Championships. I'd rather not claim them as a "Conference" championship.
More importantly if you guys can't appreciate the greatness that is Texas BBQ you either are going to the wrong place or are delusional. Hell in most of the South all you have is pulled pork with vinegar or mustard crap on it. In Texas you have beef and pork. You have brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey, pork tenderloin, and occasionally pulled pork. You can have it with spicy sauce or a sweeter sauce depending on the restaurant. You can have it with no sauce at the absolute best bbq places.
The only place in the SEC that can remotely talk BBQ smack with Texas is Tennessee and maybe Missouri. Don't even get me started on Mexican food.
If you are going to College Station go to Koppe Bridge and ask for a sliced brisket sandwich, extra moist, with onions, pickles, and jalapenos. If you don't like that you just don't understand what good food is. For good Mexican I would go to Lupe Tortilla but there are many others.

Well they are still championships awarded by the conference.

I recognize that, but I think we should. And if we're leaving a National Championship on the table I honestly don't give a rip if we're going to count division championships under conference championships.
But whatever gets this butthurt sip excited is fine by me. Running around to SEC boards with exciting infographics is one way to live.

Dallas
Found your problem.
Try Franklin's in Austin. Get there early, 3 hour waits and they start a list with the amount of meat you want, when the count of meat wanted is greater than what they think they'll have that day they let you know.
Snow's in Lexington. Only open on Saturday's. I lucked into the last brisket 1 day when the place was empty at 1:30 on my way back from BCS.
City Market in Luling. (not the place in Houston that stole the name). When City Market is on, its on.
But I really haven't seen anyone say they've found good bbq in Dallas. What was the name of the place?

They are Using the Alabama method for tabulating NC's and Conf. Championships.
