Hey now. We own eternal scoreboard in Austin. Don't relinquish it that easily.

We went 8-4 in 2001. While not a bad season, it wasn't great either.

I'm happy to pay a few pennies for the LHN, it's the gift that keeps on giving. Nothing better than the sips to keep playing 3 games a year on a network that gets 0.0 ratings and to make sure to lock up all of their coaches shows and other content on that network so no one sees it. Best of all, it keeps the entire Big 12 handicapped and unable to create their own network which would actually cost some real money (not SECN money or anything but it would be something) and keeps everyone in that league handicapped and unhappy. It costs money to keep folks in prison but it is well worth it.
Of course the best part is that idiot sips like you think somehow getting a few pennies is worth giving up massive amounts of exposure and the potential real money of a conference network. It's not like Texas is hurting for cash so I don't know what value that brings you. Still, keep on gloating as A&M has 3X the number of people watching us play as you do.

Take this shite to the goddamn MSB.

Seems the SEC circling of bandwagons to take up for our own against the invading locusts of other "conference" fan's shite talking has kicked in for the most part. Makes it official...welcome to the SEC, Aggies!

I love the LHN. It got us out of the Big 12, it's a chain that keeps the Longhorns playing in flyover country all year, and it provides unless material with which to mock the Longhorns. I'm very excited it got picked up! Congrats!

I'm still waiting on the answer... Is Texas' half of the LHN worth as much as aTm's 1/30th of the SECNetwork? What's approximate revenue on the LHN now?
Posted on 12/23/14 at 6:31 pm to Spindicus Lofrus
If my payment is late, will they cancel the LHN?
I will make sure to pay every time, on time. Thanks for the heads up! The last thing I'd want is for the LHN to end and allow a B12 network or the sips to jump to a real conference.

No one knows what the SEC Network payout is.

The average is $15 million a year, but at this point in the contract it is closer to $10 million.

If it's worth $10mil right now, it's going to be worth significantly less than the Aggies' share of the SECNetwork...

There are four Power 5 programs in the state of Texas.
The university of Texas is 4th in the pecking order right now.
Think about that for a minute and have a good Christmas chuckle.

We will see I guess.
I think in a five year span the SEC Network outearns the LHN, but who knows if any upfront costs or distribution discounts skew things early on. I don't really care about the money as much, that is their thing.
I care that the SEC Network gives amazing exposure to our sports, and that football games on there will register a national rating over the mininum.

Meh. I'd prefer to have a network devoted entirely to my school than have to share airtime with several others.
Moreover, Texas almost doubles A&M in football revenue, according to Forbes ($113 million vs. $58 million). $10 million is like a piss in the Pacific.

That's why y'all have horrid programming with paltry ratings.
Y'all are welcome to your folly

I wasn't aware the Longhorn Network subscribed to the Nielsen ratings service. Last I read, they did not. Neither has the SEC Network over its first year.

Made no mention of Nielsen.
Run along to the MSB now

You'd rather watch someone you know accomplish nothing at all than a bunch of your friends dominate the nation?
Sounds boring as frick to me.
