Jimbo had A&M as the #15 offense in the nation in his first year of a rebuild.

I'm glad you guys are happy with him.

Honestly speaking - someone like Longo is a more positive approach to getting a fresh voice instead of a puppet while Jimbo keeps status quo. So I like it from that perspective.

I agree.

I'd just be shocked if he hires an Air Raid OC.

Come on man, we’re making changes. Isn’t that what LSU brags about, making changes?

Edit: didn’t see your follow up post. No harm intended.

You would probably know better than me if it’s strictly air raid. But with our personnel, I doubt we would actually switch to an air raid offense

You have a QB that doesn’t throw to a great WR core, same problem you’re making fun of us for

Supposedly.

If Jimbo has 88 sheets of paper and his readers on the sidelines next year then you have reason to worry.

Ha ha, yes. I wholeheartedly agree.

I’d rather see the Mike Leach style 10 plays scripted on a napkin

I think it's kind of interesting that so many people are just accepting that Jimbo is going to hire an OC and give him control.

I mean he's literally never done that before, he hasn't even acknowledged that he thinks it needs to be done.

His comments post LSU honestly indicate the opposite.

How did that turn out for you this past Saturday? What’s hilarious is the guy you’re putting down made your offensive and defensive coordinators look like high school coaches.

We actually believed that the big money donors got to him and told him he’s got to become the CEO and get an OC to run the offense.

And many people on here said that was foolish thinking and that they had no leverage.

I’ll remain optimistic that someone like Longo represents change/evolution/progress

I mean that's cool and all but I'm talking big picture here.

I would rather get blown out by A&M and still win the West 10/10 years if those are my options.

LSU went 6-6 last year and beat A&M but I was glad the coaching staff was fired.

What is the leverage?

No one can make Jimbo do anything he doesn't want to do at this point.

Well Jimbo did fire the OC. So we know that is a fact. We know that new OCs are being interviewed. We don’t have to make a simple thing more complicated unnecessarily.

Some rumors indicate that Dickey was planning to retire anyway.

And firing an OC and hiring another doesn't necessarily mean that things will actually change, Les Miles did it several times.

Just from my point of view, Jimbo has said nothing that indicates that he thinks his approach isn't working, actually he's said the opposite. And no one has any leverage over him to force change.

I'm not convinced change is as sure of a thing as a lot of people assume.

All right, that’s your opinion. Dickie was OC in name only, and everyone knew that.

I’m just saying that it’s also possible that Jimbo recognizes it, and is open to hiring a real OC.

He’s literally never had this bad of a season as a head coach either. I don’t get why so many people seem to think they know what’s going through his head when he’s in a situation he’s never been in before.

Most of us are hoping he does allow a significant change because of simple reasoning. Jimbo seems to be a rational, non insane person. No rational, non insane person would look at a team with the amount of talent as we have on the roster, with offensive ranking like we had this year, and not think major changes need to be implemented. Ergo, we are hoping he makes significant changes including letting an OC call plays. It’s no guarantee he does, but I guess I still can’t figure out why the rant is so sure they know exactly what he’s going to do. But then again the rant has been sure of us losing to lsu before last Saturday, that most of our 2022 class was going to transfer out, and several other “sure fire” things yet to happen so I guess we will just have to wait and see.

That's a double edged sword.

He's never been this bad ergo it can't be him, it has to be injuries and freshmen.

That's basically what he's said anyway.
