Every Bama fan I've talked to has said they respect LSU. At one point we were the only school who could give them a game. They'll remember 59-0 for a long tme. Check the confidence point thread every Bama fans number 1 is us as is every LSU's number 1 is Bama. No I don't think we're on the same level but we're the next closest thing in the modern era in terms of recruiting, hardware, and generally being in contention year in and year out.

That's why Bama fans love to screw with LSU, and say you aren't a rival. Because while technically true, they been our best, most hated opponent this past decade, except maybe Auburn. And they are bipolar. LSU had been consistently tough.
