I get y'all's argument but you cannot tell me there isn't part of every aggie wishing that Johnny football got a chance rape that awful Texas d.
For me? A massive part. I've never hidden the fact that I'd love an opportunity to go head-to-head with them now. They shouldn't have won against us in '11, and we have to deal with that "eternal scoreboard" B.S. while they crap the bed so bad that they can't get into a bowl matchup with an SEC opponent.
I was also in school there during the 90's, so beating them became passé. Having to deal with R.C.'s decline and Fran's decimation of the program has only partially been erased by our exposure from being in the SEC. We're not winning as much as I think we can in the future, but it's nice to be relevant again.

2nd or 3rd in the SEC West is still better than 2nd or 3rd in the Big 12 South. Nothing changed for us there.

To me CFB is about 12-13 weeks of entertainment.
I'd rather go 10-2 and get to play teams like Alabama, LSU, Florida, etc and have opportunities to make incredible road trips to Baton Rouge, Tuscaloosa, Auburn & Oxford, than go 12-0 with a lame schedule against Kanas, Iowa State, Kansas State, & Baylor.
My older brother & I made an agreement when he graduated from A&M (I was becoming a Sophmore) that we would make one out-of-state road trip per year together. After about 3 years, we quit making the trip because we just had zero interest in going to places like Ames, Lawrence, or Manhattan.
The Texas game was huge for A&M fans, mostly because the rest of the teams in the B12 didn't move the needle. Now we have those types of games every other weekend with much better options to make road trips.
From a fan's perspective, the SEC just makes football season a lot more interesting.

Winning the Big 12, as we found out in 2011, means nothing unless the media has a crush on you.

Bevo owns that conference and I can guarantee a couple of late "holding" flags would fly on several A&M TD plays.
I'd rather be 4th in the West every year and get a fair shake than be in that shite hole conference and relegated to second class citizen. frick those guys.

Coming to the SEC in the midst of another dynasty by one of the Big 6 could be discouraging but y'all seem to be enjoying it nonetheless. With your resources and rabid fan base, I think the Big 6 will become the Big 7.
I think the Aggies could have won the Big 12 easily last year and this year. As mentioned in previous threads, though, that would be no great prize considering the competition and the absolutely disgusting corruption going on there.

I could care less if we ever compete for the SEC championship. I couldn't stomach another slate of crap-arse conference games. Iowa State? Kansas State?
And we're not even talking about the shenanigans we have to put up with on road trips to Lubbock and the general bullshite/deck-stacking out of Austin. It was just NOT a fun conference. Everybody is shitty toward each other. It's not the fun, good-natured ribbing that you see in the SEC. There is genuine contempt for all aspects of each other, to the point where you don't even want to be in the same room as some of the shits.
Glad that is over, national championship run be damned.

What a new, refreshing thread. This has never been asked before. Wasn't last year; hasn't been this year.
No different situation than the SEC. This year it came down to TAMU v Bama. Unfortunately we lost. Would we have beaten Baylor? Probably. But the situation of TAMU and some other team is the same in both leagues this year.
SECCG is going to be a glorified scrimmage.
