Aggies @ Mizzourah 2013 - Pinkel's Last Stand?

Anyone else see this upset happening? Aggies will be in full meltdown mode at that point (their season will be much like 2011) and Pinkel will be fighting for his job at Mizzou. And we all know how raucous a Saturday night in COMO can get..

They find ways to beat us when they shouldn't. I will be at that game.

Yup, and almost none before that.

I suppose a Mizzou fan in this thread to actually speak sensibly about it wouldn't hurt.
Here's the thing: I have absolutely no idea what to expect from this Mizzou team. Too many variables...is our QB James Franklin healthy for sure this year? Even when he was, i.e. his 2011 sophomore season, he was unpredictable from game to game...although his performance against the Aggies in CS in our win there that year was one of his best. We have a backup QB Mauk now who did not win the starting job because he tends to want to scramble out of the pocket too much and create on his own...but my gut feel is in the SEC that is a good trait rather than bad one. Mauk set national passing and TD records in high school in Ohio. I am still not sure that by that late in the season, he won't be the guy at the helm for Mizzou either because Franklin is injured again or just isn't consistent enough. If Mauk is our QB by then, well like I say I have no idea what to expect cuz no one has ever seen him play a college game.
Same with Henry Josey, our running back who led the nation in yards per carry in 2011 and also a guy that Aggies should remember well from what he did in CS two years ago. Knee shredded that year and is supposedly back to full strength but will he really be? And will he be the same runner as before even if healthy or will he be rusty and mentally tentative?
Our O-line was a MASH unit last year, so the question still remains, a la our QB Franklin, first will they be healthy this time (so far so good) but even if they are, how good are they really as a unit? We still don't really know cuz the whole group has never been together long enough to guage.
Our new OC wants to use the tight end more and go with more traditional formations more often even though we remain a spread team; more tight end lined up along the line, more fullback sets, etc. How will that pan out? No idea. Mizzou also is pairing down the playbook and upping the tempo, less time between snaps. Will this work? Even if it does, will this play into ATM's hands in this matchup since that is a style they see every day in practice? We'll have to see.
The defense has plenty of questions to answer but I think that issue is rather moot because, if JFF is playing, A&M *will* score points, and lots of them. Frankly even if JFF is gone for whatever reason I think they *still* score tons of points. For Mizzou to win, its offense must score early and often, and win in a shootout. We won't stop ATM on D.
My take on the Pinkel thing though, is I kinda think his fate will be sealed one way or the other prior to this game. If we are in position where we have to win this game in order to just make a bowl, well then he's probably already axed cuz that would likely entail us having already lost earlier in the year to Indiana or Kentucky or something...in which case even limping into a bowl by beating the Ags I don't think would save him. If we are already bowl eligible by time this game is played, then the outcome in a game in which we should likely be the underdog in terms of national rankings etc I really doubt would be the nail in his coffin. Our administration is too conservative for that, unfortunately.
TL;DR: No, it won't be Pinkel's last stand, his fate will have been determined by then one way or the other.

Of course, we also had hardly ever played you much before that either. Its not like this a 100 year series we are talking about.

Auburn is still in the SEC? I figured having been outscored 87-0 and counting by SEC competition their past few performances had been enough to evict...
