I always think of this MST3K clip when I think of the Aggies.

Thought that was what was cheered before "STTDB" @ LSU.

I know when I’m watching a football game I enjoy seeing a nice clean cut young man with a high and tight in slacks and a nice shirt. A young man who takes care of himself and is in the prime of his life.

As an unbiased observer, aggey does seem like a strange place. College Station is nothing to brag about either. However, these strange things seem to stick and carry on with alumni.... they seem to have enjoyed their time there. Go figure.

I think the football season is still going. Why have the off season threads begun?

See you on December 5.

Small military school creates 'amusing at the time' gags that turn into traditions and these traditions become quite dated as the decades tick away. Aggies buy into the tradition aspect but know it's all pretty silly as the tradition itself started as a gag.

Example: Yell leaders were originally under classmen (freshman) who the upper classmen ordered to dress up in all-white janitor get ups to keep the upper classmen and their dates entertained during Aggie football games beginning in 1907. These 'Yell Leaders' ended up receiving a bit more attention from the opposite sex than the upper classmen originally intended so the upper classmen eventually took over the operation.

More than any of you probably wanted to know but take this example and proliferate it to however many odd traditions you've heard over the years and apply the above context. The formula is typically about the same.

EDIT: Yes, we know it can look pretty fricking weird. No, we don't care if it makes you think any less of us.

Explaining where the weirdness originated from in detail doesn't make the fact its gay any less gay.

Be proud of your schools weird unaccepted ways cause I assure you noone outside of college station thinks it's "a good tradition."

I see you didn't read the second half of my post. Specifically the parts in bold.

If you didn't care you would have never replied.

You care what everyone thinks.

I cared to share the perspective from someone within the 'Aggie bubble'. Whether you want to try to understand it, don't care or still think it's pretty fricking weird doesn't bother me in the slightest.
