I agree. Alabama's offensive line is going to make that bus driver struggle.

No doubt. All those huge, quick athletes shifting around on the bus is going to make it hard to steer. I'd hate to be that bus driver.

AJ will be a Heisman finalist, though.

Just to hear one of your own saying something rational is the bigger story. Everyone knew your offensive line was going to take a major step back.

Step back yes but major we don't know yet. This isn't the first OL we have replaced and every year they have done a good job. Time will tell but we lose a couple every year to the draft and it seems at least one sometimes two in the first round.

would not say major is the right word..taking a slight step back until they jell should still make them a top flight OL

VT will answer all questions as to Nick Sabans coaching ability.
And This......

No worries here if Saban is good with "The Process" and says he's happy the progress the team is making then I'm not worried. It' hasn't failed Bama the last 3 out of 4 seasons....

Of course they are going to take a major step back. Last year's OL was one of the best, if not THE best in the BCS era, and we lost 3 of them.

This year, we have the Cyrus, and Anthony Steen anchoring the line with some solid talent stepping in. This is the COLLEGE game - every team with a good OL is rebuilding multiple positions on it the following year.

If any Bama fan is saying we will blow people off the ball in game one like 1995 Nebraska, that's delusional. But to believe this line will gel quickly and be among the top lines in the game this year is very reasonable - just not proven. And the depth and talent at WR this year, with such an experienced QB, should let us be as balanced as we want to be.

Of course you will be just fine. Realistically, you only have one true test all season.

So close to being rational, but missed the mark by just a bit. A&M's offensive line was clearly better and they proved it when they faced eachother. But yes it was ridonkulously good, with a ridiculous amount of experience, and you lose most of it. It'll probably be middle of the pack in the SEC this year. Still a top 25 line in the country, and really really good, but a major step back will be taken.

I was watching some show on ESPN and this was a stat that I wasn't aware of but Anthony Steen didn't allow a sack all year last year and with Cyrus and like you said some good talent coming up I'm not worried at all hell Bama was out of the Championship the last two years in a row due to loses and they got back in it and won both.

Perhaps that is why the word "dynasty" should be thrown around rather loosely.

But damn, and Saban had been high on the OL. Either way not too worried. I mean I think Austin Shepherd is gonna be a liability in pass pro, but other than that the OL should at least be "good enough".
OL has gotten praises...

They were set up. Like years past...first week is fundamentals, second week is throw the kitchen sink at them, 3rd and on, improvement.
