when he leaves there will be some sour grapes from A&M.
No doubt.
I'm betting A&M is Chief's last stop.

ME too. After about 10 years of dominating defense the game changes and A&M finally moves on. Chief is the highest paid coordinator or all time and retires to Tenn.

History also proves that Chavis' defenses are more about contain and reacting rather than aggressively attacking the offense
I don't know how anyone could come to any other conclusion. Saying Chavis plays an "attacking" style is just flat out wrong and I question the football knowledge of anyone who would make that argument.

I'm willing to wager he'll be successful at A&M too
Extremely unlikely

So he's been successful everywhere he's coached. He's coming to a place with defensive talent and tons of resources. You either don't know what unlikely means or it's just more sour grapes.

The offense A&M runs won't allow for a top defense

Aggy don't have the depth and DBs to be too successful right away. Plus Sumlin better learn how to play some ball control or none of this shite is going to matter anyway. Your defense will be dead in the 3rd quarter.

And if Chavis were to move on from Aggieland to somewhere else, I'd bet large that Aggie fans would wind up saying the same things to the fans of Chavis' new school.
Maybe. I don't think we will complain about the lack of recruiting though. I think that was just a he got complacent at LSU thing.

He didn't say have the top defense, he said be a success.
For us a defense better than disaster is a success.

Since Chavis left, all LSU fans can do is talk about how glad they are and how bad Chavis was.
He was way overrated unless we are talking defending spread or zone read teams. Look for an Aggie meltdown in the near future when they get their first big heaping dose of third and Chavis. It's coming. And probably in a really big game. Like against LSU.

Wouldn't LSU's 3rd down offense have to actually work first?

Insinuating Chavis is anything other than a top 5 DC is foolish, and makes you look butthurt AF.
HE HAS BEEN GOOD EVERYWHERE HES EVER BEEN INCLUDING ALABAMA A&M.

And responding to this troll thread makes you look insecure.
Especially on page 21.

The LSU narrative since last November has just been hilarious.
Bottom line, we got a good coach that may fit our system well. Several will admit this. Some won't. Our offense will never support the kind of ball control to permit him to put together a top defense, but I imagine he can put together a good defense, still win games, and have a lot less stress since the pressure is completely on the offense to control a football game.
That is what the corndogs can't understand. Our offense is designed to control the game and to carry the burden of winning games, unlike at LSU where the defense carries that burden.
And while not a single LSU ranter on here will admit it, their DC hire is highly questionable.

Maybe, but it won't be what you expect.
It won't be: "Motherfricking Chavis, he had the lead at the end and he threw it away!!"
It will be: "Motherfricking WR, if he would have caught that pass in the third quarter we score on that drive and we win the game."

This. I think it hilarious hearing LSU fan ridicule Chavis, and yet have nothing put accolades for the Meltdown Steele.

Now can we just let this piece of shite thread die? Everyone on this board is tired of the A&M-LSU offseason rivalry this year. Just ready to play some ball.

its the offseason....there just aren't and better threads going these days
A&M just wants the defense to be fundamentally solid and get some key stops so our Offense can put the pressure on. Also, Chavis has been active in recruiting key players.
Sumlin recognized the need for a running game to convert 3rd downs in the 4th quarter. The newly hired run game coordinator is focused on the power run game.
Some of you will not acknowledge this and will pretend we never told you...
