My Dawg cousin complains about that same thing, the early season WTH game. And we do pretty well at home. We've been used to the Big 12 season though, which frontloads the non-con schedule, so we're used to our cupcakes in September - not a team like Georgia. There will be a lot of excitement around our first SEC game, and there's some buzz locally that GameDay could be there. Should be a great game - 2 good offenses battling!
I agree about Franklin's passing ability, but it improved through the 2011 season, and he still threw for 231 yards/game, as well as rushing for 75 yds/game. He should be better in 2012.
As far as Josey, I'm not sure they've even repaired the ACL yet, waiting for the patellar tendon to heal. I don't think there's any way he's back until 2013. He was just a sophomore though, so we should still have him for 2 more years.

I just hope he recovers... hate to see guys with that kind of talent go down with career enders.
As far as Franklin goes I'm pretty confident we can keep his running in check. He's not quite at the level of a Cam/Tebow who doesn't need holes to create 5-8 yard runs on the regular. Probably get a couple of decent bursts in though. Just hoping we put enough pressure on him to keep the passing numbers in check.

That's the challenge with our offense - it's balanced. You focus on stopping the passing game, you leave Franklin or one of the other backs open to run. Stop the run, it can leave the short passing routes open. But our O-line has to hold up.

Short passes may work against Big 12 corners, but they don't work against Dre Kirkpatrick and other badarse corners...ask Joe Adams and Jarius Wright after the 'Bama game. And no, your WRs are not better than those two guys, so don't try saying they are.

Their Coach doing community service for DWI keeeping him from practicing with the team..

Because Missouri has to prepare for 7 new teams in conference games, whereas all the teams we play only have to prepare for one newcomer.

Gary Pinkel will not be the coach much longer. Do you think Petrino or Saban would allow a policeman to give them a DWI?
Football is just doesn't carry much weight at Mizzou.

These may be the 2 most idiotic statement from an Arky fan I've seen yet - and there's a bunch to choose from. Pinkel is at Mizzou until he decides to retire. He'll probably be at Mizzou long after BP skips out on Arkansas.
And yes - preparing for 7 teams we've not seen before will make next year really tough.

I'd be shocked if he is there past next year.
Are y'all really this clueless? You were going to fire Pinkel 5 years ago.

Pinkel will be coaching on the Betty Ford intramural fields in the future.

You can laugh all you want, but I bet Pinkel is fired after next football season. He was almost fired a few months ago and 5 years ago. For the same reason.

This Pinkel love is strong, I guess?
I thought, I was just making an off handed remark. Perhaps, I hit a nerve.
