Those minicamps were happening before the ruling. Minicamps are only two to three days and occur in early or mid June. As I understand it, he never practiced for or played in preseason games.

As I also understand it, he only signed a waiver if he were to get hurt, not an actual NFL team contract.

Personally, I wish he hadn't come back.

But he didn't pursue NFL football after the NCAA gave a fifth year That's the difference. Pretty easy to understand.
