So neither Lattimore nor Ace will play another game for USCe?

He was not better than Marcus Murphy. The only thing that went well for us was Murph.

How is it a bad move? He won't improve his stock by coming back next year.

I'm not saying it was a bad move, b/c I don't know his situation. However, I do know he was given a Top100 pick by the NFL Advisory Review and from what I read, it sounded like late 3rd to early 4th round.

Hopefully he has a great combine and can improve his stock. However, before the NFL Advisory Review, I still thought his ceiling was the 4th round.

His increase of production this year, from last year was really impressive. If he would have progressed further into next season, he could've possibly moved into a 2nd round pick. Good luck to him, I hope he has a great NFL career.

I love all of the little fail safes LSU fans come up with. Hard to talk football when you can bring up a shitty history, isn't it?

Just saying.. i like south carolina but highly doubt yall beat florida and geogia without lattimore, i dont see the offensive talent to win those this year, hardly care though since we wont play yall this year.

Here's a good article talking about this. The SEC has 32 leaving early this year...

quote:

The NFL’s new collective bargaining agreement, which was signed in 2011, cut into the gap in pay for rookies drafted in the top rounds and lower rounds. That has created more reason to jump even when a player’s draft stock could be improved with another season.

“More and more you are going to see middle-round juniors entering the draft because of the new pay scale from the new CBA,” Detillier said. “As a third or fourth round pick, you can make between $350,000 to $500,000 with a signing bonus. And it’s not worth it financially to stay another year in college to go up a round because the money is about the same. LSU is just one of the first real test cases where you had an extremely talented junior class. There will be others like this from other schools in the future.”

All SEC teams need to get used to this - if you have a good junior or two they are going to jump early.

It's become as much of a status thing as anything else - although it's really not a bad decision with the new rookie salary caps and the three year rule in play.

Coaches just need to game plan for this if they have a player on the line. Spurrier has plenty of talent returning at WR and in the return game.
