They're good uniforms. They did a good job of updating the 1970s look with the only spot they went overboard being the numbers. It's a little inconsistent with the non-existent trim/beveling throughout the rest of the jersey, but I guarantee more people like it just fine or don't have a problem with beveled numbers than are livid about them.
And I guarantee the recruits like them. Consider this: these are basically the first wholesale changes to our uniforms since most of the incoming players have been watching us play. It's always been the plain maroon and white tops with "TEXAS A&M" across the front and maybe a stripe or some piping on pants from time to time.
I for one hope we'll trot out the white helmets with maroon tops and white pants at least once.

I have decided I like them, because it makes one more team that couldn't leave well enough alone. That makes ours not look so bad.

The unis aren't bad at all. Not nearly as bad as some are saying. The socks are cool.
I'm not entirely into the matte helmets but now I'm intrigued as to how a Gator helmet would look in matte orange. I'm not sure how that would end up looking.

My only complaint is the beveled numbers look horrible, and our maroon helmet doesn't quite match our maroon jerseys.
Other than that, they are decent.

The numbers are really the only thing I don't like. They're not bad though, they're starting to grow on me the more I look at them

That's where I am on them. I am not sure about the two stripes on shirt, one stripe on pants. Otherwise I like the helmets, shoes, socks, gloves, Texas logo etc.
I have been saying all along (as have many others) that once A&M takes ownership of Texas in the SEC it will make some serious strides IMO.
