Call it spin if you like, doesn't change the truth. A&M has been a 'dog in almost every bowl game they played in the last 20 years and typically got picked over other teams with better resumes. For instance in '10 you could objectively say Mizzou deserved that Cotton bid over A&M since they beat us head to head. A&M got a Cotton bid against UT when others had at least as good of a resume. The Alamo took A&M several times when we weren't the best team. The Holiday took A&M to play Cal when others had stronger resumes. We travel. We buy tickets. We get ratings. We bring the Texas markets. That's why we get picked.
LSU is no joke. You guys travel and have a loyal following without question. LSU is a sexy pick every year. Still, if all things are equal A&M likely gets the nod because of JFF and the bigger TV markets along with the stronger buzz around our program at the moment.
Personally I think it is probably all academic because the BCS will be forced to pick 2 Top 4 SEC teams. I just think a lot of LSU folks seriously underestimate just how much A&M brings to the table in terms of support. I understand there are plenty of folks in Texas and Houston that aren't Aggie fans (just as there are even some folks in LA that aren't LSU fans). The difference is there are 27 million people in Texas and 4.5 million in Louisiana so we have almost a 6 to 1 population advantage to start. Do you really think LESS than 1 in 6 people in Texas are A&M fans while 100% of the people in LA are LSU fans? If so, enjoy your delusion.

A&M ALWAYS gets better bowls than they deserve. It's actually part of why our bowl record has sucked for the last 20 years, we got put above our paygrade most of the time
Holy HELL.....this is the funniest shite I've heard in a LONG time.

If you think the Fiesta or Rose for that matter will take LSU over A&M right now IF THEY HAVE A CHOICE you are nuts.

Now that you put that on record I will present the 3 highest rated games of last season.
LSU vs Bama
LSU vs UGA
LSU vs Arkansas

We have a larger national profile than TAMU. Even with Johnny football.
Does not compute. Johnny is a freshman.
Question is, among two teams that aren't playing for the SEC West, against two teams with 2 SEC wins on the final weekend, who gets higher ratings?
A&M vs Mizzou, or LSU vs Arkansas?
My money is on Texas A&M. Ban bet?

LOL.....aTm is a flash in the pan bro... LSU is a national powerhouse with a fanbase nationwide.
Go back to the 90's and no one thought of LSU that way. Go back to the 80's and no one thought of UF that way.
New superpowers are born all the time as old ones die. I would think an LSU fan can appreciate that given how yall are basically new money.

You guys just repeatedly overstate and expand your importance.
ESPN is covered wall-to-wall with Johnny Manziel. Like it or not, he is the talk of college football. He's everywhere.
That's the primary appeal here. That JM plays for A&M is incidental, but it's still the fact of the matter.
The team has never been more attractive.

Or do they take the team who has been a national team for the past decade and dominated the TV ratings for 2 years straight?
I understand you are upset about this, I get it.
Ags were #15 in the nation and still had #2 rating vs Bama. Not sure what is so hard to understand for you guys?
Bowls and networks prefer to take the teams that give them the best ratings. This year LSU is a 2 loss team with a boring offense.
Don't blame me. I didn't predict A&M to be in the Fiesta bowl, I thought it was going to be Cotton all the way. I bought Cotton Bowl seats last Monday on Stub Hub. The sheer volume of chatter on ESPN and other sports talk shows is leading me to think Ags will end up in Fiesta. The Alabama Daily tweeted it this morning as well.
Just asked the question as to what you guys thought about the possibility of going to the Cotton. Didn't realize you guys are under the illusion that Ags had this much affect on where LSU goes bowling.
Does LSU deserve a BCS bowl? Probably. Will A&M end up in a BCS bowl despite your "national following" "TV ratings" "2011 TV ratings"... well, it is looking like this is a good possibility. Pretty much tells you all you need to know about how networks actually views Texas A&M and our ability to draw great ratings.
Maybe the average LSU fan know more about TV ratings than the professionals at CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC... I don't know??
Like I said, I am NOT on the Fiesta Bowl committee. Just going where we are wanted and invited.
Arriba!!!

Yea moron. You're going to get higher ratings on Saturday than we will on Friday. Good luck with that delusion.

it will be close....but the ONLY reason A&M would be a little higher is because of the Heisman candidate.
NOT because of the teams playing

A&M and LSU travel well, and Ags have the heisman candidate and are the hotter team right now. Our records are the same. They'll take us before LSU, which is why your scumbag AD started shite talking our student athletes over twitter.
If you are talking about @Bill Martin, he is no more the LSU AD than you are the A&M AD.
Get it right Ags!

So the common denominator is Bama right.
Okay, LSU's 2 highest rated games the past 2 years were vs Bama.
I get it now, Bama is the draw. Thanks for clearing that up.

It doesn't matter, though. It's clear that A&M has more than a "sliver of East Texas." After all, only two cities in the country had a higher viewer rating of Bama/Tamu than....Austin, TX.
Whatever our profile was before this year is irrelevant. It's growing at an exponential rate.

Okay. But come bowl season, Johnny will still be playing. Why would the bowl selection look at that weekend, see higher rratings for A&M, and think that will change for Bowl season. There is more national interest in a Heisman contender than there is for LSU. I don't know why that makes yall so butthurt.

When we were successful in the 90's almost every rural Texan and more than half of Houston were fans.
With that said, we are talking about bowls here. Given our drought of success there are more than enough rich Aggies to fill a bowl and spend bank in its city.
On the ratings front, every Texas Big 12 team would watch our game rooting for us to lose. We would easily get better ratings than LSU thanks to the haters.
