You barely beat ULL. Some of us like our odds of playing in a BCS Bowl

Yes, I don't like the fact that we lost to LSU. Our kicking game sucks. LSU did what you had to do... just win. Better overall team at that time won.
Congrats. Nothing to do with Fiesta Bowl talk though.

yea, so that tells me that ULL would give lsu and a&m a tough game as well cause they almost beat the team that beat ya'll.

Flawless logic.
ULL has never scored a touchdown on LSU.

aww you a little upset? how about yall beat us first then you can worry about getting in a BCS game. Also, before you bring up JFF remember what we held him to 276 passing while throwing 56 times, which that allow is shameful, then only 27 yards on 17 carries, more like Johnny "runs like an idiot in the back field" football.

Not happy about it. I love coon asses but I hate LSU fans. All entitled fan bases annoy me. Especially ones that think their pedigree is more important than the most exciting player in all of college football.

but that's just it, you NEED a UF loss, that would be like bama/uga and UF arguing who should go to the national title game when 2 of the 3 undefeated lose, basically i'm just saying don't talk in absolutes when you need someone else to lose for that argument to even matter.

No.
I think aTm is all but a lock for the Cotton unless Florida and LSU lose another game, in which case you would be in line for the Sugar or Fiesta depending on how things pan out.
You won't get a bowl lower than that though. aTm/Tx is very attractive bowl matchup for the SEC, for the Big12, and for the Cotton bowl.
The SEC doesn't really rank teams for the bowls aside from the champion. I've seen teams lose the SECCG and go to the Chik-Fil-A Bowl. I ahve also seen teams not make the SECCG and go to the BCS. What bowl you play in all depends on when the last time you played there was, what division you play in(Cotton usually takes West, Outback always takes East), and how well your fanbase travels.

After reading the BCS selection process from the BCS website, I don't think its very likely LSU qualifies as an auto-bid by being in the top 4.
From their website, look at the bolded parts:
Basically what has to happen is: Alabama has to beat UGA, UF has to lose to FSU, only one of the top three can lose (if 2 lose, then Bama is in the title game and top 4 does not AQ), and that one loss top 3 team would have to be put behind a 2 loss LSU team in polls (could happen, but not likely).
Basically, if UF wins out, they have a very good shot to AQ if one of the top 3 loses. If UF loses, then one of the BCS bowls will have to pick between any of the remaining at-large SEC teams (likely LSU or A&M).
Things could get really crazy though. There is a lot of variables that could shake things up.
From their website, look at the bolded parts:
quote:
Automatic qualification
1. The top two teams in the final BCS Standings shall play in the National Championship Game.
2. The champions of the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, and Southeastern conferences will have automatic berths in one of the participating bowls through the 2013 regular season.
3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either: A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or, B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls. No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year. (Note: a second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.
4. Notre Dame will have an automatic berth if it is in the top eight of the final BCS Standings.
5. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.
6. If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 5, and if no team qualifies under paragraph No. 5 and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 4 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game.

Aggies illusions of grandeur? Check!!!
A great season for eATMe is beating two ranked teams, and losing at home to the other two ranked teams it played.
2-2 vs. good teams

No. Bama (or UGA?) would be the SEC Auto Qualifier. It would NOT be an "At Large".
So, for example, last season LSU was the Conf Champ and Bama was the At Large. Therefore, IF there were another SEC team ranked #4...THAT team would NOT get the BCS bid.
See the difference?

When you say ranked teams, we played at least 5 that I can recall.
If you mean highly ranked teams then you are correct, we are 1-2.
Same record as you against highly ranked teams 1 -2.

LSU would get the auto-bid if #4.
Now, I don't see LSU getting to #4 because I do not think any of the undefeateds will drop below LSU even with a loss. They would do like Bama and drop down to #4
