I think that in 5 years A&M will have possibly elevated its program to near-TCU level, which is something thay haven't been able to do in a decade.

TCU won the lottery.

1. Sell Dallas Metro-area night life during the off season.
2. Brand New Stadium.
3. Heart of Big12 country. Recruits friends and parents can easily drive to every single game no matter the opponent in the Big12.. Unlike TAMU. (Minus WVU)
4. Fort Worth > College Station
5. Kids are going to OSU over TAMU because of the shinny facilities... TCU just learned what to do.

in 5 years, the only way I will be able to tell the difference between aggie and state is by looking to see which sideline has girls on the cheerleading squad

Nobody can say...5 years ago no one would of thought Florida would be a dumpster fire for a few years in a row and Auburn would win a NC after getting the greatest QB to play for 1 year for them in the SEC probably ever.

The only surefire thing is LSU playing for another NC in 2015 (Season) because the NCG is back in New Orleans, assuming it's still the same setup.

A lot will depend on A&M's ability to sign kids in Texas that would have otherwise gone to TU. You have a good recruiting class coming in for 2012, and if Sumlin is a good coach with an exciting offense you could get some momentum going...and then you never know. I see A&M no worse than 3rd-5th in the SEC west on a consistent basis, with some runs at the west title within 3-5 years.

In 5 years i see you guys right about where you are now. looking for a new coach and flustered at how bad the last hire was.

I think this is what's gonna happen too. I don't think Sumlin is a good fit at A&M

Doesn't TCU have problems selling out their 40k seat stadium?

Yes they do, however, they have one of the best coaches in the country, and would have beaten A&M's arse 9 of 10 had they played recently. Right now their football program is superior to A&M's. I think 5 years is a reasonable time for A&M to reach that level. A&M still thinks BCS stands for Bryan-College Station. The Frogs have been to the show & won. And they will continue to win in the Big12. TCU > A&M at the present. Anybody want to argue that?

If Sumlin is what everyone thinks he is (and I don't), I see you guys consistently at #4-#2 in the west in any given season in five years. But I think Sumlin gets shitcanned after 3 years, so in five years I think you'll be rebuilding again. (Sumlin was a nobody before Keenum arrived).

Not a flame, just my uninformed, ignorant opinion.

4. Serious question.. Aggies first black head coach, right?

AFAIK, first black head coach at AQ Texas school.

Only 3rd black SEC coach. And I care not what he looks like as long as he wins.

Only one reply. Does University of Texas still play or have a football program? I haven't heard anything from that program since January 7,2010...OH YEAH! 2011 7-5 and 2010 5-7 I would be worried about my program not TAMU because in the next few years Tamu will own UT with SEC tv rights and recruiting.

Gotta say if you get Cooper and can lock down Houston Area - Keep LSU out - then you could be as good as Arky/Bama and LSU. I just don't believe that the O will work just ask Petrino. The speed of athlete on D is the difference. Ywes they may put up a bunch of yards, but you better be able to run it downhill and play great D or they will be looking for a new coach as some pointed out.

With the large amount of talent in Texas and a name coach it could be scary. With sec money and pulling recruits from the horns could be a recipe for another sec power. I don't think its gonna be as long as some think.
