I don't really care?
I care more about what the degree is worth, what the university does for the greater good than if someone was able to spot "talent" in the stands for a football game.

Everyone watching the game at home cares about the talent...so...

Not really no. The Corps lives together, eats together, etc. I had zero interactions with CTs(corp turds) outside of class.
What about interaction between cadets that are tracking a real military career as opposed to the posers playing army in college?

How do they all get tickets?
Student section hovers north of 30k with our record being 38,800 students at the last game against Nebraska. I know some schools do lotteries to see what students get to go to the games. A&M hasn't had to do that.. as long as you get purchase your pass during the summer.

A&M has well over 45,000 students. I graduated in '93 and we had 46K then. I believe the number is somewhere around 55-60K now.

Us Aggies are satisfied by Tim Tebow talking in the opening segments.
You hetero perverts have to get your rocks off elsewhere during our games.

They get that when they enter......the military.
Hard to figure out I know.

Only on goat-fricking jizz jar Tuesdays.

But you're watching a football game, not interviewing for a job.
Also the national perception can affect what your degree is worth. Interviewers with a preconceived notion of Ag's being weirdos hurts your degree value directly.

Does the rest of the student body like that A&M is portrayed as a military school when such a small percentage are in the corps? Cameras are always on the corps block, military band, and corps yell leaders.
Posted on 10/17/16 at 4:30 pm to aggiegreg93
it wears me out that the Corps sits where all the cameras are at because most can't pull a hot chick what so ever....For the most part, corps guys never had a good looking girl under their arm when I was there. I have all the respect in the world for the organization, but they are now a small part of Texas A&M in modern times. What you see on TV is not what Texas A&M is in reality.

Didn't realize that. Don't keep up with it. Just go to the games and can't park anywhere.

Meh it goes with the territory. You don't go to A&M unless you can accept that.
At the end of the day the corps boys that don't enlist (about half) are basically the equivalent to frat boys anywhere else (we have a small greek system compared to say a Bama).
If the same groups of guys were super serious about frat rules, or doing homoerotic things for "rush week," no on here would bat an eyelash. People just care because our frat boys dress differently and have better hygiene overall.

I'm pretty fascinated with this thread, as

Judging by the amount of stadium they take up and the amount of gameday airtime they get on TV, I would have guessed the cadets are about 40% of the student body.

Ding Ding Ding. I'm watching a football game, not at a party or club. Talent, nice, not required.

Truth be told, those frickers kicked me out after 4 semesters. Apparently after being on sco-pro for a semester or 3, your money becomes no good.

I'm going to be 100% honest with you: Most students and Former Students couldn't care less what others think (I'm sure there are exceptions).
On the contrary, the university was built on the Corps, so CTs (cadets) are usually respected--quirks and all.
Having worked at multiple large universities, I can tell you that Texas A&M doesn't have the clique mentality that exists at other universities; the "Aggie first" mantra (individuals before one's organization) is drilled into students from day 1. Students who don't play well with others tend to be ostracized and transfer elsewhere.
It truly is a freakishly friendly place.
