Sumlin's WORST year had 5 wins.

I want to expound, but to avoid sounding like even more of a broken record (assuming that's possible), I shall resist.

We all know Sumlin isn't as bad as Chizik. There's now way to get any worse than Chizik.... but I honestly couldn't name what conference Houston is in.

I think Sumlin will be successful, but there's not enough evidence there yet to say he is right now.

I think it's the Big East now...or whatever it turned into.

He's already changed the culture in such a short time. We're not the "aw shucks, at least we did our best" Aggies that we were from 1989-2012 under Slocum, Franchione, and Sherman anymore.

Get real. Manziel changed the culture.

Honestly this doesn't mean a thing. You aTm fans haven't been around long enough to realize it yet, but depth wins in the SEC 9 times out of 10. You can have great starters but if you don't have any depth you are in a world of trouble because injuries are guaranteed, especially in the last 1/3 of the season.

Manziel was a BYPRODUCT.

No Sumlin = Manziel is still Showers' backup

That's what made the job that Coaches Jackson, Price, Wallerstedt, Yates, and Snyder did even that much more amazing.

It can sure lose them though. See "Sherman, Michael 2011 season" for reference.

Pre-2012, the culture of A&M athletics was "even if you go 1-11, if that one win is over t.u. you have a successful year".

I don't understand how the mindset of a Fan base can have an influence on whether a team loses or wins Football games

Our fan base is not composed of "sidewalk alumni". They make up less than 15% of that population. The rest of the fan base are in 2 categories, "Donors" and "Future Donors".

Cam Newton was a byproduct of Chizik. That doesn't mean Chizik was the one who changed the culture.

If two teams are equal on talent which will win more games:

A. Coach and fan base feel that losing games is acceptable as long as the team "does their best" and doesn't get blown out.

B. Coach and fan base expect conference and national titles each year and do not accept any loss as a good loss.

The answer is obviously B because the culture of that program is one of winning.
