re: A well-noted Southern city ranked #1 as dirtiest in the nation (no, it's not Baton Rouge)

Still not sure what this topic has to do with sports.
Most of the cities on that list have Democrat mayors. Most shithole cities do.

That title has always belonged to Atlanta. Dallas is the Chicago of the South.
I don't think anyone thinks this.
Atlanta is smaller on every measure.
Smaller economy, smaller metro area, smaller population, fewer pro sports franchises, lower per capita income, worse infrastructure, etc etc etc
They maybe tie on # of Fortune 500 companies and having a big arse international airport.
Hot-lanta is a great town but definitely not the NYC of the South.

I don’t think Houston looks that dirty. The city I visited that made me feel like I needed a shower immediately was OKC. Just an ugly place

That is because it is in Oklahoma ...

I presuppose you're speaking of baseball and not God's angels or Satan's angels???
Dodgers, of course!!!

It's weird to talk about how it's the "dirtiest" but practically the entire post is about how it flooded.
Were you not able to actually find pics of the town being, you know... dirty?

That’s a nice way of saying that they do not have their own culture. The Americanized kolaches are good though. Wish we had more up here.

Houston is too much of a melting pot to fit into your definition of a (singular) culture. This isn't a bad thing either.
Lazy and uninformed people call Houston culture-less. It's like the people who move here from the north that would rather bitch about not being able to find a good _______ instead of getting off their arse and driving for one.

Places don’t have to be singular to have a culture. Southern Louisiana, Santa Fe, San Antonio, Miami, StL, Milwaukee, Chicago, Boston, Philly, SF, Memphis, Boston, and most of NYC all have unique cultures that are far from singular but still prominent enough to make those places unique and interesting. Houston is just a dirty place where people end up. At least DFW is a clean place where people end up.

Gonna disagree with you. Some just choose to not find it.
Houston kicks the crap out of DFW as a whole, though I do like the FW part.

I've lived in Houston and Dallas. Currently live in a northeastern suburb of Dallas. Houston is hot, dirty, and humid as hell. But, I loved living there. Mostly because of the people there. And being a native Floridian, I liked being able to get to the coast easily and get out on the water.
Dallas is full of douche bags. Very entitled and materialistic people. Love my small suburb we live in now, though. But, l wouldn't turn down a chance to live in Fort Worth either if given the chance.

Yep. All the pussies who can’t take a little heat seem to move up north.

I moved up North more than twenty years ago. I don’t really like the heat now, but then you probably cannot handle snow. To each their own. I also live in the country away from the cities. I don’t really like Denver either.

It'd be easier to come up with a list of US cities with a 1+ million population that ISN'T a shitehole. I'll start.
Phoenix isn't too bad outside it being in the middle of a desert.
San Jose is pretty nice, or was 10 years ago.
My oldest brother just moved out of Portland, OR. It is now very expensive and homeless has taken over part of the city. Same for Seattle.

Those people are stupid and deserve what they get. Don't blame your brother at all, he's surely not alone.
I think most normal people are fleeing those areas and there is a movement in I think both Oregon and Washington on their eastern side to leave the state and join Idaho to get away from the crazies in those cities that make laws for the rest of the state.
