The conference championship games should be considered part of the playoff. P5 & the highest ranked non-P5 champion. 12 teams, 6 advance. If Notre Dame wants to remain independent, then they won't ever play for another football championship.

The west went 5-9 against the east.
First time this has happened in like 7 years or so ..
Bama was 2-0
TAMU was 2-0
LSU was 1-1
Everyone else was 0-9
SO yes , the west is down ... BAMA is great and LSU & AM are good ... the rest is aweful...just facts.
And sorry I have an opinion different form yours... this is a sports board.
I believe you should win something to play for something and with only 4 spots ... then it should be that more important.

So in your opinion you have no issue with:
1)ND going to the playoffs and not having to play in the conference championship. Remember they may have played a lot of P5 teams but they were very bad P5 teams
2)That we could see a playoffs consisting of UA, Northwestern(4 loss), Texas(3 Loss) and Utah(3 loss). Going off your opinion about needing to win a conference title.
3) UGA getting left out over a 3 loss Texas or PAC 12 winner because UGA, OU, and OSU all lost.
Again you are right to your opinion but I doubt I would watch any of those match ups or many agree those are all deserving.
