For any of you fathers/mothers out there with young girls, I know my parents use the Life360 app to keep track of my high school aged sister.
This is an awesome thing to have. But unfortunately you have dipshits out there who will say "you're too protective and she deserves her privacy!!"

They're more concerned with their kids having personal freedom than their safety

I track her through the iPhone app on her phone.

Yeah. I mean if that shite existed when I was 17/18 I would have hated it. However if I ever have a daughter, it will be an absolute and unbreakable rule that it's on at all times.

Crazy why she would text her roommate and not call the cops

Unfortunately it's a natural response from some who have never been in a situation like this. They aren't sure if the other person is actually committing a crime or doing anything that is reportable, so they just call a friend instead. Always call the police or drive to the nearest police station...

Well shite that doesn't sound good, wish she would have called the cops if she thought she was being followed. Drive around till the cops get to you or even drive to a police station. Can't be too safe if you think you're in a bad situation.

Exactly. Turn the fricking hazards on to make the cops aware of who you are.

I have a feeling this case might end up with a much different outcome than we were expecting

Damn. Prayers that this works out but doesn’t sound good. There are horrible people out there. Makes me never want to leave my wife’s side. I can’t imagine how I will be if I have a daughter.

There is no need for any one in this country to not have a pistol in the car and know how to use it.

As a cop, I 1000% agree with this. I tell people that I'd rather it be nothing and us get called than it end up being something and us not get called. Stress to your loved ones that you are not bothering police if you have a genuine concern about your safety.

i don't think she was really missing, sounds like she just didn't want to be found for a while. There were sightings today.

Where did you see this? Last I saw, the last communication was texting her friend at 12:30 AM Sunday saying there was a man in a blue pickup truck following her.

Edit. Nevermind. HPD just tweeted out that someone saw her walking around the Galleria by herself around 5:40 PM on Sunday.

Here is tweet of reporter who found her car with video of car. I noticed that the car isn’t parked between the lines. Also dent in side of car.

Hopefully, it will turn out that she just had a got-to-get-away episode, but fwiw in these cases there are always "sightings". Some are legitimate misidentifications and others are just idiots intentionally spreading rumors, but in all but a minuscule number of instances they turn out to be false.
