That’s a thing?

I don’t recall seeing that since we’ve been here.

hence "seldom" lol

I don' knwo the last time they've been worn, it's definitely not a regular thing like LSU's purple. I think they may have only worn them a handful of times ever, an AU person will need to chime in here

UGA players remained on the ground. Refs couldn't get the ball lined up in time and time ran out for AU

Love it, this is the kind of shady, unscrupulous behavior that rivalries live off of

It was painful to watch. Never seen Auburn students more angry than after that game. That said, I agree with you! Just wish my Tigers will get back to making this a rivalry again. For you, it must be kind of like watching the Tennessee game for Bammers in the Saban years. This rivalry is too historically good for us to play so badly.

We will see on Saturday!

I was at the Orange jersey game. Bunch of "curious" calls by refs. I may be wrong but am pretty sure that was the last time they wore them. seldom might not be the best term since it is approaching 50 years

This link has some good info on the jerseys: LINK

Looks like they were worn a few times since that game but you're right it's been almost 50 years.

For the first time, one of the league’s permanent inter-division rivalries would meet again in the SECCG.

Happened with Auburn/UF in 2000.

Not a permanent inter-division game.

UGA/AU
UF/LSU
Bama/UT

Prior to 2002 teams had another cross-division opponent (ours was ole miss) but considering it was temporary and non existent after 2002 I wouldn't call it "permanent".

Auburn/UF was permanent at the time. Hope this helps!

That 1892 Auburn team looks gay as hell. What's with the cute little hats?
