As short-lived as the strategy was, Chizik kept that team together in a ridiculous shite storm that lasted months. The family attitude always plays well at Auburn and Chizik had everyone believing.
Now, it's quite possible some of his actions led to the subsequent crash and burn, but he has to get credit for orchestrating a rebellion of success during a period where everyone wanted to see Auburn suffer and die.

The difference between 2010 and 2011 was about 30 seniors and Cam and Fairley leaving. We replaced our entire OL and most of the DL and played a lot of underclassmen on both. The 2010 team was pretty much the last of the Tuberville players that actually contributed. We were a senior heavy team in 2010 and basically had to start over on both sides of the ball in 2011. The big difference maker was that those highly rated kids that Chizk brought in hadn't been developed in the 2 years he was there, so 11 wasn't great and 12 was a complete shite show, until Malzahn and co got on campus and got their full potential out of them.

Chizik deserves more credit than is often attributed to him. Internal stories from credible insures suggested he changed in part because of the lack of credit he got for the title. Gus and Cam deserve the lion's share, but Chiz did a great job.

curious?
Who on your coaching staff do you hold responsible for the two losses in four years against Auburn?
oh, and came painfully close to losing in 2009

I didn't read Chizik's book, but I heard he virtually took all the success for the 2010 season. Some assistant coaches apparently did like that. Also heard that Chizik felt like he was not given enough credit by the media and fans and Malzahn was given too much credit

New SEC Rule:
Bad QB= >6 wins
Average QB= 6-7 wins
Good QB= 8-9 wins
Great QB= 10+ wins
Great QB, Great OL, Very Good QB= NC Contender.

Are there any Auburn fans that attribute the success of the 2010 season *to the coaching-work of Chizik more than Malzahn?
I think you misspelled Cam Newton.

Trying to give you positive reinforcement as you were able to post about cam without whining.

I honestly don't know why anyone would dislike Cam. If you're interested in my opinion on the NCAA and its member institutions' role in pressing amateur athletes into 3 years of unpaid work, I've said my piece on this site a time or two.

I love seeing the SEC championship come down to these two teams
