Mormon church in my small town went out of business, so to speak, a year ago. Sold the property and they are gone.

Doesn't get much more "Deep South" than - checks notes - Lexington, Kentucky

Meh, not that weird. There’s now about 1 million Mormons that live in the SEC states. Also, the LDS church owns more than a million acres in the South, including about 2% of the entire state of Florida.

Yep. And, nothing says “Deep South” more than - checks notes- eating Skyline Chili in Lexington.

So you are saying a Colonel who spent his youth in Alabama did not know how to fry a chicken?

It was KENTUCKY Fried Chicken with the Colonel

It is KFC (and crap under the new corporate world we live in)

Kentucky's a weird place. Almost not southern. Politics bluer than Georgia.

I'm saying Kentucky is not the Deep South.

Maybe you thought we were talking about food franchises and just got confused.

Guess what?

The first KFC was in Salt Lake City, Utah - home of the Mormons.

Maybe this new coach will be a good fit at UK. lol

DJT did better in KY than AL or MS

LOU and LEX may be blue but the rest of the state is DEEP DEEP Red

Can't tell if trolling, or just uninformed.

No, my people sold the booze to Daniel Boone when he came across the Gap in the 1700's. NKY aka South Cincy and LOU aka LoserVille are river towns populated by Ellis Island folks as the country industrialized. Rest of KY is more South and Deep South. Guy that created what became the SEC and the first SEC commish were KY guys.

Kids today just do not know early American history any more.

FWIW, 1st territorial governor of FL was from KY

FWIW II : both presidents in the War of Northern Aggression were born in KY

FWIW III : DJT got higher % of votes in KY than AL or MS

Then the rest of the state should have turned out to elect a decent governor.

They did

State elections went 3 : 1 to 4 : 1 Republican

Democrat was a practicing Christian
Democrat brought jobs to the state
Democrat actually was hands on with weather issues during term

Got re elected by popular vote but he was more like an old school Dixiecrat and not the current Costal Democrat Party. Lots and lots of old D's in the South and Midwest started voting R when the D Party went Costal and forgot them.
