LSU was the first SEC team to win a national championship in football. I thought it was GT but LSU shared the title with UPENN in 1908. LSU, Pennsylvania NCF, HAF, NCF

The University dosen't claim 1908 , but I'm sure Bama will. I a season was played and Bama had a game prior to TV they claim it as a NC.
The reality is Bama probably has guessing 10 real NC's which is amazing, but not the 42 they claim.
One day Bama will have as many as Yale.

Won what back to back? Auburn was 4-3 in 1903 and the National Champions were Michigan & Princeton in 1903 and Michigan and Penn in 1904...

LSU should claim 1908 and UGA should claim 1946. AL should stop claiming 1941 and start claiming 1966. I think Auburn should claim 1993. If you go undefeated and you’re in the SEC you’re a champ in my book. Screw NE/MW bias of the 20th century

Bama doesn't and does not need to. We have more NCs than your college can even dream off.

My bad homie, I got mixed up. It was 1913 and 1914 when Auburn won back-to-back Natties, so OP is still correct

Auburn also won back-to-back Natties in '57 and '58

Now this is bait.

For LSU fans

Auburn Tigers were selected national champions by the Montgomery Full Season Championship.

Auburn won in 57. We were undefeated again in 58. Nobody took the belt from us, therefore Auburn was back to back National Champions.

This isn't that hard to figure out, my dude

We cheated in 1908.
Some LSU fans will say it wasn't proven but we sought out and paid a couple of pro players(grown arse men ) to sneak down here to Baton Rouge and play for LSU.

Granted that 1908 LSU team barely gave up any points so we may have won it fairly anyhow.
But it's definitely tainted and most rational LSU fans don't want to claim it.

Just to be accurate, there was no SEC until sometime in the 1930's. If we are going to discuss all time great teams who are or were SEC members at some point, then the 1899 undefeated Sewanee Tigers get my vote.
