I an not sure a significant portion of the LSU fan base appreciates Les at all. I think there are too many who just tolerate him.
I don't think the UF fans ever appreciated anything Zook did. That cupboard was far from bare when Urban took over, especially on defense.

Shula.
Can't believe he hadn't been mentioned. He got things under control after the Price "It's Rollin' baby" episode. Won some games in 2005. ( but left Prothro in the Florida game). Recruited some major pieces of the 2009 championship.
He is also an alum. Former Qb.
But almost every bama fan laughs at him.

Bowden?.... are y'all kidding? He won with a "stacked" deck for two seasons, then went in the tank. He couldn't recruit and left our program on the brink of becoming like a mississippi school. Plus we had to make him sign a contract not to run his mouth. Imho he doesn't deserve love from au

B.S. about Meyer. As much as I like Muschamp, I wish Meyer could have stuck around for a while.

I can see what your talking about. Can't really put your finger on it, but I can see what your talking about.

Honestly, Jim Donnan. Sure he wasn't a national title level coach, but that's not what we needed at the time. We were coming off the AWFUL Goff years and needed anything to stop the bleeding. He went 5-6 in his first year and missed a bowl. But followed that up with a 10-2 mark, then went 9-3, 8-4, and 8-4. He went 4-0 in bowl games, broke a 9 year drought to UT, and beat UF for the first time since the 80s. He had his mistakes for sure (the DC coaching carousel, the Quincy fiasco, losing to tech, etc) but he took our program up to the next tier.
Mark Richt then took us up another notch, but Donnan did a lot of good for our program.

I agree with this :Kige:. I have no problems with Mike Shula. Don, however, should have kept his mouth shut when Bama hired Saban. It could never happen, but I wish Shula could have stayed on and learned under Saban.

Dear God, Shula was a disgrace to Alabama football. He took a team capable of contending for SEC titles and transformed them into a fat bitch's diarrhea.
Sure, Joe Kines won 10 games for Shula in 2005, but that team's potential was far better than 10-2. Hell, three teams with losing records SHOULD HAVE beat us that year. In addition, against two of those teams, Alabama's offense didn't even score a touchdown. There's a massive difference between luck and a complete and utter fluke.
Anyone who has the audacity to defend Shula aka Satan's gift to Alabama football should be castrated immediately.

Now that I think about it, Doug Dickey probably fits the description for Tennessee.

Franchione at Bama
Go frick yourself. Seriously.
Mike Shula took over our program when no one else wanted it... did the very best he could, and no one liked him. I will always appreciate that.
Franchione was looking for a meal ticket, and he fricked himself HARD. Justice is good.
You're a fricking idiot for assuming we would ever want to embrace that asswipe.

Puhlease. Shula was fricked from the get go with the NCAA sanctions. No 5* recruits wanted to play for Alabama when they were on probation. Dude was fighting an uphill battle the entire time he was at Bama.
That said, some of his game day coaching pissed me off to no end. But I still appreciate him taking the job when no one else would.
