i posted this in the tiger rant but im bored and i thought id share it with the rest of the SEC world.
I couldn’t figure out why all the aggie fans are so confident their team will beat LSU so i did a little research and thought id share my findings.
Lets start with A&M's "amazing" offense that’s about to face a relentless LSU defense that thrives in big games. On a closer look at A&M’s opponents you will notice that every team but Florida are terrible on defense with exception of maybe ole miss who is average at best. Their overall defensive rankings go as follows:
Ole miss- 41st
SMU- 73rd
Arkansas- 92nd
Louisiana tech – 119th
South Carolina St.- 63rd ranked defense in FCS
The only good defense A&M has played is Florida and in that game, they were worn out and their numbers were very pedestrian. JF played ok but he wasn’t able to take over the game and the offense around him was terrible. LSU's D is just too good to be beaten by one player.
Next we look at the A&M defense, its ranked 72nd overall and gave up almost 60 points to La Tech (yea i know they have a high caliber O but 615 yards and 57 points?!?!). case closed. Yea they get some injured players back but I doubt it will make a difference.
In all I believe this will be a classic LSU victory this weekend. The first half will be close but LSU’s depth and running game wins out in the end and LSU rolls in the second half. Plane and simple, LSU’s defense is just as good Florida’s (I think LSU’s D is better but my opinion is biased so ill call it a draw) and our offense showed signs of life this past weekend and looks to keep rolling against a defense half as good as the one we just played. And after great improvement against USCe (no fumbles and less penalties), I predict LSU shows even more improvement and finishes drives inside the redzone.

Texas A&M-17

I think much is simply hopeful optimism of fans. Plus LSU's play is extremely uneven. Based on the season as a whole, a poor O day by LSU would give any opponent reasonable hope.

Florida 20, Texas A&M 17
Florida 14, LSU 6
Any other intelligent questions?

im pretty sure that this called the SEC rant and last time i checked LSU is a proud member of the aforementioned conference. plus the thread is about our next opponent who is also a member of said conference. so yea, this seems like a relevant place for my thread.

Perfectly stated, plus aTm is a decent top 25 team playing at home. LSU will have to earn this one.

TL;DR, plus you're and LSU fan AND this is from Tiger Droppings.

I'm just shitting ya.
However, to opine about your post, I will say two things: road game and your two SEC wins have been by 2 points. I wouldn't exude too much overconfidence. I'd be surprised if aTm wins, but not shocked.

The dumbest thing I have ever read. Your logic is gonna be all sorts of fricked up when A&M loses

not saying they shouldnt think they have a shot, jus dont see how they can think they will roll LSU. (i know not all a&m fans think this but a good number do)

Can't argue much with your analysis. The only variable that isn't really reflected in these stats is that this is a new offensive scheme and a new freshman QB that is running it. Improvements on offense are being made each week.
Ags defense is good against the run. Not great, but pretty good. Tackling issues and penalties are also problems.
If Tigers defense can shut the Ags down then we have a problem. Don't have the depth on the defensive line of scrimmage for 3 and outs.
We shall see. I like our chances better now than I did before the season started. If the Ags offense gets on a roll at home... well, you never know.

All those defensive rankings might be a result of playing A&M don't you think? Johnny leads the SEC in rushing, and is 3rd in passing. If you think the offense is pedestrian, you're just trying to skew numbers to find what you want. Which means, you haven't faced a better passer, or a better rusher than Johnny. Is that not true?
On the other side of the ball, before the La Tech game, A&M was giving up 14 pts a game, which was 14th best in the nation.
As far as holding us to 17? Laughable. Florida did that in Johnny's first start ever, and he has drastically improved since. He has broken the SEC record for total offense... TWICE. If you honestly believe you're holding the A&M offense to 17, you're insane.

Well with that brilliant analysis I think A&M should just forfeit. I mean there is no way our offense has improved since the first game under a new coach and QB who had never taken a college snap. LSU also can only play exactly like they did last week at home against USC. No way they can play like they did at Auburn or against Towson, it simply isn't possible. Oh, and the comparable game with Florida also doesn't matter.
I just hope you guys don't embarrass us too badly.
