Fair enough.
But to be fair, I think he's just smart enough to know he doesn't need it in the Big 12.

...
If their defense was even average at best they could very well have 9 or 10 wins

I guess I'll go ahead and post it for you
"In B1G play, Bielema went 23-1 against MN, IN, IL, and Purdue and 16-18 against everybody else."

I don't bother with all that non-sense.
I just say something like, review my sig quote for historical facts about Bert.

schools like Baylor don't have the resources to recruit Elite defensive Talent.

You don't understand.
You got a guy with a collective losing record against B1G teams not named Indiana, NW, Purdue, and Minnesota.
He did some okay things in a crappy, antiquated conference. What's more, he openly exhibits his disdain for and incompetence in recruiting.
You'd be lamenting having just an 8-5 coach in a down B1G if tOSU hadn't been under sanctions.
Briles could have given you a nice gateway into Texas. High school coaches there love him -- they're just reluctant to send their kids to Baylor.
He runs the kind of offense that is taking over CFB -- the same type everyone said wouldn't work in the SECW.
And even if these spread types depend on brilliant QBs, he's the guy who recruited RG3, Case Keenum, and Nick Florence (who, btw, is leaving no slack in production from RG3).
He consistently churns out a good OL despite getting nobodies.
He's the one successful coach who's had sustained success in a major conference despite being at a school that, like Arky, can't attract top-flight talent.
He was the guy.

what is his record without a freak Heisman trophy winning QB?

That can't be true. No freaking way. Bert is the man. Take it back. Lies.

Spot on. I'm very glad that Arkansas didn't hire him.

For being at Baylor, pretty damn good.

What's Bert's record without Russell Wilson and Ball?

had we hired Briles the Rant narrative wouldve been "lol he can't play defense", "he sucks without RG3", etc

3 straight conference championships and Rose Bowls is "okay"?

Knew this would find it's way into here
Our recruiting is going to be much better than under Petrino. His staff alone proves this, not to mention every single recruit has said they love the hire

Oh no one average season!
I guess we should disregard that he had 11 wins the past two seasons before that and an overall record of 68-24?
Plus a huge reason for that record is that he had large staff turnover. He lost like 7 coaches or so

We'd still have better recruiting under Bielema than Briles

I'd much rather have the pro style offense. Running the spread is for schools who have large talent decencies

Bielema and Pittman O-lines >>>>>>> Briles O-lines

We hovered around 25th in recruiting with Petrino. If you think we can't have regular top 15 classes with better recruiters considering our amazing facilities and willingness to invest in football then I don't know what to tell you

No, Bielema has shown he was a great hire, and definitely better than Briles

He's at freaking Baylor.
But more fundamentally, he's always going to have a really good QB.
