Then you're dumb. You see it every year in bowl season. Record setting offensive big 12 teams get held to 14 points.

Bielema has sent 12 players to the NFL in the past two seasons. That's talent isn't it?

Before I get busy at work again I'm going to look up the 4 year rolling average in recruiting for all the BCS championship teams. I bet it's top 5 on average.

Without a doubt. I saw recently that every team that had a # 1 recruiting class has Atleast played for the BCSCG for 10 years.

Sherman recruited very well -- Sumlin is recruiting measurably better. But that's not really the point. What I'm saying is you can contrast the two by looking at the 2011 and 2012 outcomes where each had similar -- not exact -- personnel.

Those outcomes advance the argument that our success was significantly attributed to Sumlin's ability.

I said you have 3 or 4 really good ones at most each year. What record breaking offenses are getting shut down other than OU (which is more due to Stoops losing all his best assistants) every once in a while?

Except when they play the 17th ranked team in the Holiday Bowl tonight. Because that's when they score 35 in a half.

I think Arky made a decent hire , but he does lose to teams he shouldn't and struggles to beat good teAms. I do think he is putting together a good staff. I thought Arky fans should be worried that he had no South connections but he seems to be taking care of that.

they dont even play like the majority of Big 12 teams.

I'm not arguing Sumlin is better than Sherm, he is, by a long shot.

I'm just saying lets see him with most of his own players and a year of film in the books for opposing teams.

Manziel is the wildcard in all this.

If you don't think the defenses in the SEC are better, then you clearly don't know football. If you can't tell , Bama's , LSU's , UF's , USC , and UGA have more talent on def than all of the big 12 combined, then you'll probably never see it. LSU kicked off a Bednarik winner and SEC def player of the year and was still a top 3 def.

LSU, Bama, Georgia, and Florida's Ds are better than most others in the nation.

The rest of the SEC? Not that tough.

A&M faired okay against the SEC defenses this year -- just one year removed from Big 12 play (we know the details of the LSU GAME; no need to recite them).

You forget about another team in the sec....in the east....on the coast....with arguably one of the best defensive players in the country....that stopped that "great offense" to only a touchdown even though it was really just a garbage td.

South Carolina is very good no doubt. I think Clemson was pretty overrated though. The ACC was so far down this year it hurts.

And it doesn't matter regardless. You are never going to play all of the best defenses in a single year.

(unless you are LSU and Bama tells the league office to make it so)

all indications is that Manziel would have performed the same way in the fall regardless of who the coach was. People forget that Sumlin had Showers as #1 leading into fall camp but Manziel simply outplayed him and won the starting job. Hard to tell if Sherman would have done the same but my bet is that he would have.
